Mason better come out of that locker with a headset on. No need to play him any longer.

Attendance is an eye sore. Hopefully in our conference games we will be seeing the crowd.
Unfortunately, our remaining home schedule is LaTech, Southern Miss, Rice, FAU. LaTech should be great attendance. Southern Miss and Rice.. ehh. And FAU is a Thursday game.

Mike Law going with #7 this year. I kinda liked the 32

Robison will be starting as long as he takes care of business.

I’m honestly curious.. you said you don’t like to fire someone after 1 bad year and he is on thin ice, but this defense regressed so much.. nearly have its games, it didn’t do anything SMU, UAB, Army, FAU x2, and Troy), the 2 best defensive players were either benched (Brooks) or lost for 1/2 the year (McClain)..
What makes you think he could improve next year, with that being said.. he can’t go much lower as a unit so it’s bound to improve, but they are losing a lot of key piece from McClain, Jenkins, Wheeler, Andy/Tillman with us having no idea if has or will rebound (since they stuck with Jenkins yesterday)?
So many factors can come into play when only evaluating one season. You have to take into consideration the effect of changing coordinators from last year to this year (I know they were “co-coordinators” but still). And who do you bring in? Is he gonna be able to turn it around in 1 year, and if he doesn’t, do you send him packing too? Id love to see how Reff responds. Let him try to work this out over an offseason. I get it was a rough defensive year, but I don’t want a coaching carousal of defense coaches. Continuity seems more important in college with the constant player turnover.

Was just coming to make a thread about that. The players have to stick up for their coach. Maybe it really is a matter of execution of the scheme..
but the fact of the matter is the sign of a good coach is taking what you got and making it work. Seth took what he had and put together a terrific offense with a below average oline.
**For the record, I want Reff to return. I’m never a fan of canning a coach after 1 poor year. But he’d be on thin ice if I was making the decision (but of course I’m just a fan and shouldn’t talk out of turn.)**

People on here will tell you either it’s to get Mason more reps (for his development), or because he is the Offensive player of the year (thus making him ill replaceable)...
Just to be clear, I think Mason is without a doubt your QB. But at a point, it’s time to get him out. The game is over. How bout we not leave him in there to get killed.

Fine has been so bad. And the line hasn’t been any better. Why isn’t Quinn in yet?

Torn between giving Reffett another chance next year and firing him immediately. Ask me again at halftime.

Blame orientation leaders. They teach the claw hand signal and a loud “CAWWW” scream.
One of my buddies could actually do an eagle screech sound and it was awesome/ear piercing haha

I stopped by the ticket office today to pick up my student package. I asked how ticket sales are going. The response was a sad look. I asked if we’re going to sell our allotment and they said not even close. They said “It’s a quick turn around, the same day as graduation, it’s far away, and the opponent isn’t well known.” They said Troy will bring a lot more people than we will. The main thing it seems is the distance hence evidenced by the comment
Worker: “it’s relatively far enough for people to not want to travel”
Me: Oh like compared to the Heart of Dallas bowl?
Worker: Exactly.
I love Wren and I know it’s not exactly the schools choice where to go, but they should have made a more conscience decision when considering the fan base and attendance expectations. Far drive and not worth an expensive flight. Had a good group of 8-10 folks lined up if it was Shreveport against a P5, but so it goes.
Again, I know ESPN and the bowls have the ultimate say in the matter and an awesome game against Troy might mean more but it still sucks.

Slight topic bump.
It is 12/8/17, FAU has gone 10-3 and 247 is still reporting 1 commit. Either the Lane Train is going super secret stealth recruiting mode or he doesn’t give a _____ bc he’s gone.

IF the student pays for college by means of loans, it comes out to less than $1,000 after being compounded over 15 years and assuming 4 years of enrollment.
Well worth it in the long run in order to improve your (future) alma mater.
-
I don’t get the whole “it’s what the players want” logic. I highly doubt the players are salivating at the chance to take on mighty Troy University.

Anytime there’s a damn near 5 star recruit on the market that nearly ran for 300 in a game as a freshman, you take a stab at getting him on campus. He’d the be the thunder to our lightning (Nic Smith).
-
Noticed HP was playing right now and it prompted me to look up John Stephen’s recruiting page. No offers? I know he’s a small QB but he’s been lighting it up this year.
I know we already have more than enough QB commits and the Jones’ have deep Arkansas roots, but I wouldn’t be opposed to trying to get the kid on campus. If nothing else, a nice tie in to the Jones’ as future donors

I saw a helmet at a fundraising event before the game. Close up, it looked good, and I understand the players really liked them.
From any distance the design was too busy and I don't think it translated on TV.
In the end all this equipment variety is really about selling to recruits. I think it's been incredibly successful there and is just one more thing the staff can sell.
I thought alternating red-white-red-white on the “feathers” would have looked cleaner

I’ve come to learn that military members can be pieces of $h!t too.
Obviously, I don’t know the guy. Just speaking generally.

Having your stats in your de-commitment post SCREAMS I love the recruiting process more than the destination.
Of course, good luck to the young man. I genuinely hope he finds the home for him.

I talked to some students today and they absolutely HATE the new digital student tickets. Would much rather go by the booths on campus. Part of the reason being it’s kind of a reminder and that having a physical ticket makes you more likely to got to the game

I don't see the offense in Austin's tweet.
George can do little wrong in my book, but I do think he overreacted a bit.
We need a lot more young fans like Austin. I hope he remains an avid fan long enough, that some college kid will complain about him not showing the enthusiasm of their generation.
This is pretty much my thoughts.
I only hope in 30 years when a young fan shows passion for the Mean Green, Austin doesn’t take the example set by some here and immediately drag him.
