@UTSA Paratrooper 04, @UTSA Fan, @UTSAMarineVet09, and @Runner, do yall not have tough guys in yellow shirts to rough you up if you sit in the wrong section? I'd like to do what @Runner says above but it is important to me to sit with the Green guys and I'm likely too late to go through the NT ticket office. Thanks in advance. I've never been to the Alamodome so I don't exactly know the lay of the land.

I don't know. My seats are by the luxury boxes so I have been asked a couple times, but my impression is it would be easy to move. With the third level closed, I think the capacity is about 35k, so there should be open seats.

Anybody on here going to communicate via the board? I'd like to meet some of you. I have a wife and little girl, so if it's going to be obnoxious I will pass.

  2. UNT better watch the hell out. UTEP is easily the dirtiest team I see year in and out. They cheap shot Bogenshutz and ended his career and hit Sturm easily 3 seconds after the whistle and drove him into the ground. Fine better keep his head on a swivel, the UTEP player wasn't ejected.

The post was in May, before the season began.

Also, we were one of 126 FBS schools that didn't offer him, so...congratulations.  The blind squirrel does find a nut here and there.

People here get a little excited, though and forget that the leading rushers were recruited by the old staff, all the receivers in double digits for receptions so far were recruited by the old staff, ditto the kicker and punter...

...as well as the majority of defensive:  five of the six interceptions have come courtesy of players recruited by the old staff, as well as the top seven leading tacklers on the team; of the 14 sacks registered, 10 have come from players recruited by the old staff.

What the old staff couldn't do was get a decent QB.  They also couldn't get the defense right.

The old staff recruited well just about everywhere except QB.  Even their OLs seem to do just fine run blocking.

The new staff is full of excellent defensive coaches, and that is the main difference.  They also have found a QB who can complete less than 60% of his passes, average less than 180 yards passing a game, but still manage the game well...like the senior year Derek Thompson.

So, congratulations for the LB 126 other schools looked past, ours from roughly the same time period - Courtney Finney and Brandon Garner - are doing just fine.

What other players that had no other FBS scholarship offers would you like to brag about, while you are here?  Your school's roster has as many as ours.  Some work out, some don't.

I'm not bragging, pointing out an incorrect statement. Unless your a headphone wearing coach on Saturdays in the sky box calling plays, you didnt recruite anyone and are a STH scrub like the rest of us and none of us can "brag" because we didnt do anything. Apparently, truth to you is UNT is the presumptive national champion every year and fields a roster of All Stars that are can't miss NFL prospects and everybody, every team, every fan, game, statistic, outcome, recruiting class, facility, coach, degree, fan, player, cheerleader, waterboy, prospect,  tailgater and news article that doesn't agree with you is biased dog shit looking for a fight. Good grief.

I don't care where you sat, personally.  I'm just saying, if his offers were from the likes of us and UTSA, what's the difference?  He hasn't done a damn thing yet on the field, so I don't understand the upheaval.

There are a sh*t ton of kids who aren't heavily recruited, year in and year out.  So, what's the big deal?  The kid's brother goes off on twitter over a game between UTEP and UNT, and that's supposed to trigger some kind of remorse out of us?

I mean, what kind of pitiful life must he be leading to take time out for that?  He's rehashing his older brother's recruiting woes through the one game misfortunes of the UTEP's, UTSA's, and UNT's of the college football world?  Wow.

Recruiting trash talk among UTEP, UTSA, and UNT?  Does it get any more pathetic than that in the big picture of FBS football?   If that's what gets little brother hopped up, I'd drug test him immediately for the presence of meth, bro.

Seriously, step back and gain some perspective.

Wouldn't say hasn't done anything...last I heard he was top 10 in the country for tackles and the top Freshman (by a lot) in tackles. His 10 Saturday didn't lead the team  but is respectable.

If UNT wants to upgrade to another conference we'd make a ?-line to the MWC since we know the AAC is not a choice due to politics. If we don't others may & we will wonder once again:  "Why weren't we more pro-active & let "THAT" school(?) one up us?"

A MWC West Division consisting of a coalition of Texas schools now in CUSA would be the real deal. Then we'd all but be on a par in football with the AAC most years.   Right now we are in Sun Belt 2.0 except for Rice & UTEP.

The Wren & our DFW location with a school that is projected to hit 45,000 enrollment may be our aces in the hole;  that is, to insure that we won't lock-step ourselves into going backwards with the next round of conference re-alignment & come up  a day late/dollar short.

    GMG!

I was hoping for UNT and UTSA to move to AAC. What does it mean UNT can't move "politically"?

Was wanting Rice to beat UTSA.  Wanted the Chaps to spit the bit.

Could see UTEP winning every one of their games until ours.

The Herd was 10 yards away from getting their season finished in October.

Southern Miss beats Rice by 16 then gets beat by UTSA by 23, so UTSA should crush Rice... right?

UTSA plays to the level of the competition and struggles on the road with so many underclassmen. The game went as expected.

It is the improvement I see from week to week. I am happy camper this year now no matter what happens. But watching our Defense improve week to week makes me think anything is possible in the west, not like LaTech is a powerhouse and they do have to play us at home. Didn't you guys just hand Southern Miss a Loss? And I kind of expect a win in San Antonio.

UTSA plays Rice in Houston Saturday, they have never won there. I'm looking at that game to give some insight into the Halloween game.

I guess no one told UTSA about the number of players on scholarship or that they have a new coach and it takes 3 years to rebuild.

There was thread asking if Wilson would even make it 3 years if the team didn't start doing better. I don't think he is on the hot seat, but damn, the guy just got hired right before NSD and doesn't even have a recruiting class. I guess it is a cut throat business.

Stockstill is a lot more mobile than Fine. Maybe we need to start rolling Fine out.

    (as in bootleg)

I don't know about that. It's my impression that rolling out the pocket protection is an even harder thing to block. If the other line was recruited for power blocking, this would expose them even more than regular assignments.

    This.

So irritating seeing players dance to music playing over the PA. Even worse several did it while on the field.

Pretty much. They are young kids, if they want to dance, Snap Chat, wave at people in the stands or watch YouTube on a watch, go for it. These poor exploited children being worked over by the man in exchange for the pittance of a life education and coaching for a possible NFL shot can't honestly be expected to act as representing the University. Let it be haters, they are going to get theirs.

It's unfortunate that Wheeler was thrown under the bus by Florida, however ... if this causes opposing quarterbacks to give an extra glance to their left side when they drop back to pass ... I won't complain.

My concern isn't the fans. When players/teams have reputations, it affects officiating. The more discussion about this, the greater the risk of public perception (officials) being influenced. IMO I don't think anyone needs to create linkage between the SMU and Florida events by discussing it. If they were dirty or not, people will begin to see it as pattern. I hope nothing happens tomorrow or this could go from filling down time between games to serious conversation.

My bad...I never got the UTSA Fan backstory pamphlet. Glad to see UTSA and UNT are deadlocked at one bandwagon fan a piece. I also am not quite sure you know what triggered means, but I hope you continue to use it well in all your online interactions, especially the ones where you have to explain you aren't really mad and it is all funny to you.

Zzzzzzzzzz weak ass post but happy your done.
