good thing Memphis and Houston didnt wait around for Fuente and Herman (or PAPA Briles for that matter) to get more experience -

When their last OC got hired by Tulsa he left before the bowl game, so look for Kendal to do the same if hired -

i know he is young but i think he would give this program a shot in the arm for sure. but he is experienced in the big moment he has been to more bowl games in his young career than our whole program has been in a 100 years... MGB breaking: Briles among those who have sent resume

is any one else concerned that there is only two coordinators from P5 schools, not counting Tim Horton (because i dont think he will make the splash we need. There is no Norvell, no Riley, no Littrell, no Applewhite and no Fritz who have all been tops on or hope full lists. the rest of the people are no names that def wont make a splash -
-
Dan also had one foot already in the retirement home.
-
i don't think mac or dodge hirings were trends...
-
Hopefully it's one of UNC Littrell, Riley, Applewhite, Norvell, or Thomsen

no.

he was defensive coordinator for Ohio St teams that went 24-2 while he was there. And he led his FCS team to a win against SMU something we couldn't do with a D1 roster. Not my first choice but we could do way worse
-
Withers has really moved up my list after reading more about him. Wouldn't be upset at all if we got him
-
I totally agree with this. After reading more about Withers he has moved up my list as well
-
or he comes here for 3 years making a million each year ( around a 600k plus raise) gets coaching experience and can still move on to a bigger job.

Great name. Tons of diverse experience. Huge texas ties. Though still young at 37. Has worked under Mack Brown, Nick Saban, and now Tom Herman. And best part he is only making $300,000 this year. Here is a pretty good read about him. http://www.foxsports.com/college-football/story/houston-cougars-oc-coach-major-applewhite-ohio-state-buckeyes-texas-longhorns-tom-herman-041615

http://www.texastech.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/032012ace.html video of chris. had 4 draft picks at ACU. Thats 4 more than UNT in the last decade.

What do y'all think about dino babers???
TheReal_jayD replied to TheReal_jayD's topic in Mean Green Football
Bowling Green plays tonight on ESPN 2. Can see what Dino's team is about. -
I 100% endorse thus message

Nobody on this site couldn't tell me they wouldn't be excited to get jake spavital. Especially if he could talk kyle allen in following him up here. He would bring a spark. Probably not as much as lincoln. But he has as much coaching experience as kliff when he took over for tech. With him mentoring under sumlim and holgerson we know the offense will be opened up for sure.
-
Gary Patterson was a coordinator before he took over TCU, Mike Leach was a coordinator before he went to tech. all 128 d1 head coaches were once Coordinators before someone took a chance on them.
-
yeah but the fact he was 7-5 last year. and now this year with the same group of players they are 9-0. he wasnt really maximizing the talent. i just think sometimes you have to take a chance on a young hungry assistant to jump start your program. i dont think dodge or mac were hungry. i think they both were stubborn and complacent. i would love to see a Lincoln Riley, Major Applewhite, Mike Norvell, Sonny Cumbie, Dino Babers, Jeff Traylor type to be brought in hear and jump start the program and get some excitement for not only the fan base but also recruiting. Because Houstons left over arent getting either excited

Head coach of the number 3 offense in the country!! Texas ties was a assistant at baylor? Won at both head coaching stops. Still young at just 51. And best part e is just making $400,000. Explosive offense and head coaching experience. His name may have been mentioned but I think he should be a option

If Riley is truly out. My new favorite target.
TheReal_jayD replied to TheReal_jayD's topic in Mean Green Football
also worth noting Mike is the 36 ranked recruiter currently nationally on 247sports.com. one of his commits is a 4 star QB from houston. -
I believe Mike norvell has the energy, youth and passion UNT needs in its next HC. He also has more experience running a offense at a big school. norvell is also a Dallas native so hopefully he would help recruiting the DFW area. He has also been called ASU top recruiter. I think if Lincoln is truly out whichi don't think he could turn down that type of pay raise. I think Mike would be a great consolation prize. http://www.azcentral.com/videos/sports/college/territorial-cup/2014/11/26/19563161/ http://www.azcentral.com/story/sports/ncaaf/asu/2015/08/08/offensive-coordinator-mike-norvell-breaks-down-asus-offense/31358121/ http://www.azcentral.com/story/sports/ncaaf/asu/2015/10/22/what-makes-mike-norvell-asus-top-recruiter/74400330/
