  1. I don't ever back down. If we lose, I'll eat my crow without complaint. Will you eat yours?
  2. The fact that an outsider like me was able to become a hall of fame candidate in less than 100 posts and being around less than a week meas that I'm either really good at this or the people on GMG have really bad taste. Anyway, UNT better get off of the tracks because they are going to get hit by the kickoff train on Saturday!
  3. Whatever, the Rangers are going to choke again for the 3rd year in a row. (IF they make it back to the World Series)
  4. It's funny how the Texans were winning consistently last year too and the Rockets began their season yet we were still putting butts in seats. Not once did we ever complain about things being "too hard" or the city being "filled with many other things to do". UNT whines and says there is no other way, UH dusts themselves off and makes their own way.
  5. And what makes you think this? What will be your excuse if the Eagles Mean Green lose?
  6. Not only that, but Thompson would also need to try and get things going through the air. The key to the game for North Texas, is to keep the Houston O off the field. When Houston's no huddle starts clicking, the D will be gassed after a while and it will be difficult to keep up with the points being scored.
  7. I recall this D forcing numerous turnovers onUCLA and we shut out Rice until garbage time, so your argument is invalid. Nonetheless, we are talking about UNT not Rice, not UCLA, not Texas State. (They actually do not like being called TSU, they prefer TXST) You keep hyping up this defense. This defense has not faced a high-powered offense yet. Don't even bring up Troy, because not only do they not run a high-tempo offense like UH but to compare the two schools in general is an insult.
  8. So...let's get back on the original topic of football. I say our offense is too fast, too strong, too powerful. Piland has too many weapons. Thompson won't be able to move the ball on the Cougar Defense.
  9. As I recall, we went up to Stillwater and beat a Top 5 Okie Lite team and then the following week at The Rob, we sent a ranked Texas Tech team back home to Lubbock in tears. Oh, I can't forget going up to Starkville and beating SEC Mississippi State. All in a span of 5 games. Nice try though. UNT wouldn't have went 12-0 with our "weak" schedule from last year. We blew you guys out in your own home opener and then you got wrecked by Tulsa. We went up to Tulsa and humiliated them on TV beating them by 32 points. Again, nice try.
  10. Lol ok. Being 10-0, #11 in the nation with a Heisman candidate and future NFL quarterback breaking every NCAA career record in passing had nothing to do with it.
  11. Shedding the body bag games is the first step to shedding a loser mentality. If anybody on the UH board was to talk about being satisfied with losing by less than 21 points to somebody like LSU, they would get driven off of the board. Part of being a winner is thinking like one, stop accepting mediocrity. Accept the best and nothing less.
  12. Well, if nobody gives a crap about UH football, yet we still sell out our stadium, get College Gameday to come to our campus to showcase our game and get people to pay 300 bucks for a game ticket. Then I hate to see what people think about UNT football...
  13. Adding on to this, you guys say we wouldn't sell out our stadium with a losing season. Yet, I mentioned 2010 where we went 5-7 with Piland starting and STILL sold out our stadium averaging 31k. UNT can't talk smack about anybody's attendance when they can't even bring 25k to a game. I remember sitting in the stands and the students around me getting updates on the Whorns game as opposed to watching their own school play. Let me go ahead and list all of your excuses for low attendance; Not winning, competing with the Rangers, Cowboys, Mavs, TCU, SMU, too many things to do in DFW, do I need to continue? I honestly don't think you guys would want me to, since UH is also in a pro sports city filled with many other things to do, yet we still sell out our stadium.
  14. Way to live in the past. Of course, that's all you guys do on GMG. Nobody cares about what happened about 35 years ago/ Face it, UNT has done anything relevant ever since they got denied from the SWC. Not too long ago, there was a thread where a lot of you were crying about being surpassed by Texas State, UTSA and UTA. Of course I have to mention the 30840830833807 threads on here crying about SMU being mean to you guys. SMU does not and will not ever consider you guys a rival. Deal with it and move on. You guys still cry about SMU "blackballing" you. When the whorns denied us the Big XII, did we cry about it? Of course, but we did what UNT failed to do. We got off our asses, hooked up with SMU, TCU, Louisville, Southern Miss and the other misfits and made our own conference. We are building a monorail system through our campus and connecting it to downtown, you guys complain about one of your cafeterias being vegan. We always talk about making our next move, you guys complain about students having fun with the fight song. We made lemonade, you guys cry over spilled milk.
  15. Nobody gave a crap about UH football in the late 90s, early 2000s. We're talking about recent stuff. ECU leads the Conference with 50k per game. UCF gets about 45k when they're doing well. We have gotten 32k so far the last 3 seasons. UTEP gets about 30k when they're doing moderately well, same goes for Southern Miss. Then, there's everybody else whose numbers are comparable to the Sunbelt schools.
  16. Me no like Rice. Cougars destroy Rice. When (not if) this thread makes the front page of GMG.com, I will officially be a legend here and in less than 100 posts. Dreams really do come true.
  17. Very well put GL2. It's like people around here don't realize that you shouldn't throw stones when you live in a glass house.
  18. I get my own thread? Well of course, since I am the newest celebrity on GMG.
  19. Nope. That's the highest attendance Apogee has ever had in your sig and it still wasn't filled to capacity.
  20. First off, Mitt Romney wouldn't be too happy if I stole his nickname. Second, our highest ever rated recruit plays receiver for us and was CLEARLY 5 stars on Scout. Let me know when a recruit turns down USC, Alabama, and Notre Dame to come to UNT. Even if it was jusst 10 4-star guys (going by rivals, had many more on ESPN and Scout) it's still 10 more than UNT has ever had. So much fail...I'll address this just once. I switched schools before walk-on tryouts started due to extenuating circumstances beyond my control. I easily would have made the team, especially when Dodge was coaching. I honestly haven't had much time for football lately because of the things I've been taking care of. Will I return to playing football again, only time will tell. Now back to your regularly-scheduled SMU penis envy.
