  1. Wonder why Christian Hines is not listed as an enrollee? I have seen his name on the workout charts. I assumed he was receiving a grayshirt scholly along with Tucker.
  2. No doubt. When there is real anxiety about whether or not we will win a game or out recruit or out draw another team it means someone cares enough to notice. Can't wait to start playing some of these games.
  3. Booger may have outweighed Syd by a pound or two... or ninety.
  4. I wonder what the story is with Crouch? Nice size, speed, and senior numbers. Not even rated.
  5. Maybe could even shed a few pounds and play ILB. Looks like a nice player that once he gets to school could go in a couple different directions. It would be Nice to have options.
  6. I can only assume that some Universities have an official 'looking' form so the recruits get to 'sign' something to get the same feeling of commitment as the other players, but they most definitely do not sign an official NCAA LOI if they are a walkon.
  7. If Woods signs, and we are able to add 2 DL instead of 1, it would help lessen the sting of losing a recruit to Tulane.
  8. We were having the same recruiting results as SMU prior to their 4 year bowl run. Now look at their recruiting classes. Just win.
  9. Very solid ideas. I like both suggestions.
  10. With 4 TX conference mates (and hopefully soon to be 5), SMU has become much less of a concern for me. I am looking forward to the series, and hope it is extended, but it will not hurt near as much as it would have previously if they do not renew.
  11. I would be all for embarrassing someone, but not rewarding them for wearing someone else's gear.
  12. I learned my lesson. 0-13 with three forfeits, but hoping for better. I think the 'easy' games next year will be tougher than our 'easy' games last year.
  13. Odd how that works out. At one point, UNT and TxSt seemed to be hot after him. He never committed and they both appear to have moved on without him and now he is going D2.
  14. Probably 4 star, borderline 5 star until signed with UNT, then low 2 star.
  15. So we have 5 teams that went to bowls last season on our schedule (4 bowl winners), plus 2 teams that went 8-4 and 1 that went 9-3 that did not go to a bowl? I would say we have our work cut out for us to say the least.
  16. Same could be said for WKU. As recently as 2 years ago, they were winning 2 or fewer games per year and averaging less than 15K per game. Not exactly a proven commodity in football. Basketball has been better and are definitely on par, or better, with the league. I just think they have limited upside based on their geography. TxSt has twice the students, is located within 4 hours, and we have an established history with them. IF TULSA LEAVES and the choice is between the two, I definitely pick TxSt over WKU because I think it is better for UNT. For 2014, I agree that you could just move over USM and play with 12 (ODU playing a confence schedule actually helps buy some time). I would not make sense at the current time to add anyone to start play sooner than 2015 if Tulsa takes off.
  17. Evidently, better at the shorter distances. Tires easily.
  18. I doubt we play with 6 in the west and 8 in the east when Charlotte enters. We could move UAB over as well at that point, but it starts getting a little too far east and spread out for my preference (from a western division standpoint).
  19. I originally answered this as who I thought would get added, and voted for WKU. However, now that Tulsa seems to be showing signs of having made their mind up, I am switching my vote to who I would like to see added. For now, that is TxSt for the following reasons: 1) If this is about markets and potential, they are credited with belonging to the Austin/Round Rock/San Marcos MSA, which is larger than the Tulsa MSA, and TxSt could be competitive if they are in CUSA. 2) If we lose a western team, I want them replaced with a western team. 3) It is 4 hours to Tulsa, it is 4 hours to San Marcos. 4) With 5 Texas teams, we would have 4 TX games every year no matter what. Potential of central TX every year, Houston/El Paso every other year. Not bad. 5) Having 5 teams allows CUSA to have presence in the top 5 Texas markets. Just have to figure out a way to penetrate them. 6) Establishes CUSA as having the largest presence in the state of TX with 126,000 students enrolled at member schools, compared to 100k for Big 12, and 53k for nBE. I think this point is a big deal in the long run. 7) I believe they die on the vine if left in SBC. While tempting, there are other programs I would wish that on before them. A close second is ULL. If USM left, I would add them next. ArkSt could possibly be next instead of ULL, but I gave ULL the edge due to the fact we recruit south LA and proximity to New Orleans/Houston. If there are losses in the east, then someone like WKU or GaSt could be considered, but if the losses are in the west then add from the west. If we ended up with 5 teams in TX and a team in north LA and one in south LA in the west division, we could do a lot worse IMO. We would have a ton of freedom with our OOC scheduling.
  20. He makes no bones about targeting markets Definitely get the feeling Tulsa is as good as gone.
  21. As long as they are catching him from behind and not from in front, I can live with it.
