This is true. Although just from listening to people around us and seeing posts on facebook a fun time was had by a lot of people. I think the students will keep sowing up. Its the alumni who need to do the same. The players have really reached out and tried to get the students to show up. I am disappointed in the loss, but still games left to play. It was obvious weeks ago its all going to come down to the conference tournament anyway. With our depth and ability to sub in fresh legs we might have an advantage if we can go deep enough.

And this is what is wrong with our country.... right here..... You can be tried as an adult (capital punishment), you can join the army and die for your country yet you are a kid... this has to be a joke. Sure everyone has growing up to do. However when you turn 18 you are classified as a man and treated as such,

Maybe it's time to grow up. I get that men in general are less mature as they grow older. But 18 year old men play in the NBA so no excuse in calling an 18 year old college player a kid....

Stop calling them kids, they are men, you turn 18 you are a grown man! 18 year olds can enter the NBA. So kids play in the NBA? Really... And when did I blame the team? I just said that it did not fall together. The team is working hard. Learn to read. And the 7 people who liked it need to do the same. I never once blamed anyone on the team! However calling an 18 year old a kid is a joke,

We did it this game. Not a lot but we did. We also ran a 2-3 zone and a lot of tired guard legs. In my opinion the subbing was pretty normal. The game just did not pan out. Defensively we did not have it at the end. I'm ready for the game next Saturday.

The subs have decreased though. We played the first 5 minutes (I believe) without making a substitution and then Alzee came in.

Check the numbers. For a deep team they match up. Sure a team like ODU plays less guys (8), but we are consistent (almost) with most teams. I also think the minutes will change. Benford has found his starting 5 and I am happy with that.

We are also a very deep team. Outside of Armani, Walton and Colman anyone on this team could start on a lot of teams in CUSA.

He got under my skin with the bench warning. He was trying to throw off Chris at the line and it worked. CJ had to wait to shoot. Well played Kermit... Well played...

There are few in any teams in CUSA who's players average those minutes. Our players minutes per game are actually on par with the league. I do agree Benford subs a lot however take a look on espn... They are comparable. LA techs best player averages 28 minutes a game. Southern miss has one guy at 32 but the rest are 26 or under. Middle is in the same boat. Alzee averages 29 and our starters hover around 24 to 26. Again similar to other teams in the conference.

Actually he did a lot less of that then Kermit did....

And we lost by 7. I was feeling pretty confident in the first half. Middle is very beatable. Come tournament time if we play them I like our chances.

I think with this last scholarship we have this year we will just have to take the best player we can get. Hopefully PG and Big men will be addressed the following year.

I agree. Which is why we need to support this team this year and next. Show up to the games. The crowd was great tonight and the players were thankful. Losing is never fun but there are more games to play. Let's win!

To my knowledge he will not need a red shirt but I could be wrong. That is something Cooley NT03 might be able to answer.

Not sure I understand? 2-3 zone the way we run it (like Syracuse) is very hard for the guards. They exert a lot of energy trapping in corners and spreading the court. If you want to use it to shut out the three your guards are going to be exhausted! Man is a break in that instance. only for the guards though. I know this because again this point was reiterated to me by my guest at the game.

Wesley will be a freshman next year and is already enrolled in classes. Combs will be here for sure next season. Those are two fantastic freshman. I do agree that after next season we will have some issues with experience. Only Mo will be rerunning by then. This is why success is needed this year and next.

We ran the zone in the second half as well. It was switched up with man and we also pressed the ball a lot more which required man until the ball crosses the half court line. 2-3 zone is very hard to run successfully and shut down both the three and the paint. Fast players with fresh legs. I'm guessing the switch to man was to accommodate tired legs? Just a guess...

Last year he was in rough shape and made some unwise choices his subbing was much worse and he was in over his head (typically first year). Throw on injuries and I understand where he was. This year he has improved and the players have really rallied around him. He teaches more then just basketball. He teaches responsibility and how to be a man. That is something more important then wins. This point was reiterated to me again today. 11-9 is not a fantastic record and 2-4 in conference is rough. The conference games we have played a enforce had held his own. The 2-3 zone has been solid and because of out quick guards it is doing a decent job off trapping and shutting out the three. It falls apart when our players get tired however which is one reason for the subs. Fresh legs to chase the ball around the perimeter to shut out the three. When we have that our defense is fantastic. We just need another big man to hold his own. Voss is great but he cannot play 40 minutes at the 5. If that is accomplished we will see better results on defense.
