Him and Bre on the same side? ..one wide ,one in the slot...could be tough ! Go MG

His preseason 2012-2013 status as a consensus top 10 (top 5 according to chad ford on ESPN) player on draft board's can be used by JJ at LSU. His 37th overall pick can be credited to Benford.
Thats why theses guys are called anal....yst !

Is this Big conferences or Big Banks ? We can regulate ourselves! What a bunch of BS ! Nobody wants third party oversight or responsibility. What do you think U Miami is pushing for? If ever there was another death penalty case this would be the one.

Based on Coach's requested needs it looks like he has filled them. There was always one word that would describe Marquette's teams and that was Athletic.
The team looks impressive to me , now lets see what Coach can do.

Difference in AAC and C USA is regional competition. If you are not going to hit the home run on the TV then u better fill your stadium !

Well, you're right about Trilli. He was something else! As nice a guy as you could meet but could not coach if his life depended on it.
From the outside looking in on this and knowing how desperate we are at North Texas to have success in anything athletically, yet I am not sure 1 year is enough time for anyone to even unpack all their luggage.
I mean look how much time we've given others across the board in UNT athletics to not succeed over past decades and they all to the person had much more than just 1 year.
Having an NBA caliber player who for whatever reason could not lead our team out of the losing or could not mesh with the talent we had was a frustration for all of us who call themselves Mean Green. I used to watch Elvin Hayes down at UH be "the leader" of that team and his supporting cast all looked good because of "the Big E" but more important is how they meshed as a team. (Of course, many of that group other than "the Big E" such as Don Chaney, Theodis Lee, Kenny Spain, George Reynolds, etc, were talented and even more important they all seemed to stay healthy as a group, too). Being facetious here, but it seems all Coach Guy Lewis had to do was throw out the basketball to these guys, chew on his famous towel and watch players who meshed and had great chemistry do the rest. I think Benford is looking for that chemistry factor.
Even during Coach JJ's last season in Denton it seems we had the injury bug or the "no pass/no play" bug as well in Mean Green Country and that has not helped, either.
Hope all is well for you in TinselTown, CMJ.
GMG!
Now I know why professors get the big bucks. Nobody can follow instructions !! :-[ I am impressed with Benford's first recruiting class. I would like to hear from some in the know guys what they think !

If I look at this recruiting class from a non-hater point of view, I am impressed! Guards upgraded with the new guys and TJ in the picture, Center upgraded (TM was not a center) with Gaines ( stay healthy my friend) and maybe an improved Coleman( just set pics and rebound)..Post and swing play alot of good players with different techniques that will create good match ups! For UNT this looks like a very good class!

Very nice. A good stadium is a full one! Congrats!

So here is what we ended up with:
1 good HS prospect
1 JUCO
1 1 year transfer
1 HS project who avgeraged 3 pts while coming off the bench for his hs team
1 mystery HS project who left his team halfway through the season.
Glad that Benford is getting time to get his players in here
2 JUCO one is an All American and HS prospect that was top 100 ? I guess you can spin it anyway you want.

This is about where I am right now.
Hopefully with the recruits we are bringing in we can fill the holes left my graduation, etc. Benford did say many of the incoming players were better 3 point shooters so hopefully if we lose someone to injury it isn't such a major weakness like it was this past season
On board . He is putting together a good recruiting class.

Looks very much like a coach in the floor. Probably brings his lunch pale every day. His basketball IQ is probably 1 billion gazillion.
Did I miss anything?
Yea, you did ! All -American! Congrats to Colin.

So he's projected to come in as a three point bombing 2 guard?
Nah! Tyler was Mr. Hustle ! Probably All Conference in bloody noses and body slams! A 4 or 5 with that attitude would be great. Voss looks like he could be that kind of player!

Awesome! A Tyler Hall kinda of player with great size? I miss seeing that guy!

i'm excited about next season. Facilities upgraded, and I believe if you look at who will be available this year compared to last year it could be a good team. Having the new guys along with Brandon and TJ we can have a really good team especially when you look at the different match ups we create!
Give Coleman just 2 goals, block out and setting screens.
I like the combo of :
1. CJ
2. TJ
3.Jordan
4.Wesley
5.Fannigan
Run guys!
Thank you for the new facilities!

Also, you have to accept that programs are going to pass us by. You just have to accept it.
I'm not even joking when I talk about Abilene Christian these days. They bump up to FCS this year and have many rich donors who are beginning to smell the reality of what type of money can come to a school through a good, visible athletic department. They've even got more players in the NFL than we do at this point. Sadly.
UTSA and Texas State...there will always be people here who pooh-pooh what they are doing. But, UTSA jumped right into our conference after a couple of years, and Texas State is aiming ever upward. I'm sure Banowsky will invite them into what someone here termed Sun Belt+. What other choice will he have?
We will sleep on all three as they become more competitive than us.
So...RELAX. You've thrown your support behind a school that is happy where it is. We had good times at the school when we attended it. We have the older old folk to depend on to tell us about the good ol' days when the football program was decent.
Let's just get out there tomorrow at the flag football game and be happy and content with what we've got: good memories of attending UNT. Just treat any athletic success we occassionally stumble into as temporary icing on the cake.
Congrats!!! U r dead on!

This is pretty cool. Getting rid of the Sack and Save strip center would be great!( more exposure on 35). Also a Hotel , the Stadium and a Baseball field would really look impressive!
NTSU what is that!

"Blue-chip athletes win games, and successful teams fill stadiums."
Wrong , filling stadiums is still a challenge for SMU!

Let's see three years ago I was sitting in Historic Fouts , in the rain, eating a cold hot dog watching us play some team from someplace in Florida I never even new existed!
Now I go 2 hours early , tailgate( maybe the best venue in Texas), take an elevator to club level, have a buffet, a cold Beer. I will watch us play a school I have heard of and actually know alumni.
I am Dam exicited, this may be the best Football Schedule ever! I know it is the best facility!
I can not be more proud of the steps my University has taken.
Just win a few more and be competitive with all.
Sincerely,
X Thumb Sucker

Student Athletic Fee voted on by students! Move on!

That's a lot -- I only see 4 walk-ons on that list. Have we ever had that many Redshirts coming into the program at one time?
That's 19 new scholarship players...participating in spring.
Plus the mid term juco and transfer players...
This team may have a lot of starters returning but the competition and depth will be much different.
This is the type of system we can be successful with. Develop ! I believe off season and Coach Wintrech are crucial . Also the walk on program should be the best in North Texas, because of location, facilities and tuition cost !
UNT Walk-Ons Continue Making The Most Of Their Opportunities
