I know this won’t be a popular opinion on here, but when talking to my friends the response I always get is “they haven’t really done anything yet.” Or “check back when they do something.”
These are not just friends but they also attended and graduated from UNT. If you look back at our history every time we take a step forward it seems like we take two steps back. There has never been any consistency.
Conversely, basketball is something my friends are extremely excited about. In fact 3 of them will become season ticket holders this year!

Everything I am reading says the negotiations are not going well and Apple is no longer interested. Some think they will lose a lot and the MWC may end up going under.

North Texas' nickname is the Mean Green, and its mascot is an eagle. What is that all about?
North Texas' nickname was originally an eagle, but it later changed to the Mean Green. The origin of the Mean Green nickname dates to the 1960s when Sidney Sue Graham, a fan of the university's football team, began using it in the stands in the 1960s. The name caught on with the football team before the university later adopted it for the rest of its athletic programs in 2000. Scrappy the eagle remains the school's official mascot.

Keep the other team from scoring a gajillion points. North Texas can score. The offense might take a wee step back, but it’ll still be great. Now the defense has to avoid the games when it doesn’t have anything working.
The Mean Green went 7-0 when keeping teams to 28 points or fewer, and 0-7 when it allowed more. Even with the D allowed just over 30 the games were close, but all five games when allowing 41 or more were double-digit defeats. QB Chandler Rogers in from ULM, LB Larry Nixon gone to Auburn. The Mean Green didn’t land a ton of sure-thing starters from the transfer portal, but it got a veteran quarterback in Rogers. In a tough situation at ULM he did what he could hitting 66% of his passes for just over 3,700 yards with 24 touchdowns and ten picks, and he can run.
There were a slew of big losses, but for a defense that needs as many playmakers as possible, not having Nixon hurts. He left for Auburn after making 245 tackles with 5.5 sacks and 11.5 tackles for loss in his four seasons.-

Change is the biggest storyline for the American Athletic Conference going into the 2023 college football season. Houston, UCF, and Cincinnati moved to the Big 12 in realignment, and the AAC responded by bringing in six teams - Charlotte, North Texas, Rice, UTSA, UAB, and FAU - to bump the league's membership to 14 teams.
Despite all of the changes around the league, two teams - UTSA and Tulane - that combined for 23 victories in '22 remain the ones to beat. The Green Wave aim to replicate last year's run to the New Year's Six (and Cotton Bowl win over USC), while the Roadrunners hope the return of quarterback Frank Harris and a solid defense is enough to get this program to one of college football's biggest bowls. SMU, Memphis and FAU headline the second tier in the AAC for '23.

Not only did the AAC deal with players transferring in and out of the conference like the rest of college football, but the league dealt with programs coming in and out of the league as well.
Adding six teams and losing two others, it’s pretty much a new look for The American. That includes new names to watch. With the transfers that Rhett Lashlee and SMU reeled in, new Mustangs could fill this list. We’ll look at other impactful transfers in the league, however.

There are two major questions surrounding the Pac-12 at the moment, when they will secure their media rights deal and whether or not they will be expanding.
The media rights deal is something that John Canzano recently discussed with me over onLocked on Buffs, and not only did he sound confident that they will get one soon but he said there is a belief it will equate to more than the Big 12's. While Big 12 country have predicated themselves on praying on the downfall of the conference for pretty much this entire year, there is now some growing confidence coming from the West.

I see no reason to name the stadium after anyone other than the largest bidder. With all due respect especially not Mitchell as he was a good coach a zillion years ago and has very little relevance today. Sorry to be so blunt but the last thing we need to do is name a stadium after a coach that was around before electricity.

This is not the snake pit. The snake pit was taken over by the University. This is the Kuehne Practice Facility.

On a positive note, I think once this stadium is finished it will be hands down the nicest most impressive stadium in the AAC. Perhaps tops in the country! The facilities in the AAC are truly top notch with the exception of UTSA.
