“Coach (Percy) Johnson gives me a lot of freedom and I can impact games either on the wing or inside,” Codie said. “I enjoy playing on the wing more, being able to go off the dribble and score, but I also know when to go inside and get buckets, too. Coach Johnson having trust in me makes me play with confidence and do whatever I can to help my team win.”

Codie provides a formidable inside-out game and I can see further down the road of him being a multi-purpose wing that’ll bring versatility on both ends of the floor....

“These next couple months will be important for me; be big on how my recruitment goes. Want to help my team make a run in the playoffs and try to win an Adidas Championship (Playing with Southern Assault) this summer,” Codie said. “I need to be consistent with my play and just show how good I am.”

I like Rubin's game a lot, but I also think his style of play would be better suited to a more up tempo offense.

Had the same thought last night. His reads in the open court are exciting but open court play is more rare than an albino squirrel sighting

  3. For a game with zero points in the box score, Rubin sure made an impact on how things played out last night. His defensive activity clearly showed up with his 5 steals and his offensive contribution probably could've been more notable if not for some really great passes that weren't converted into buckets.

Apparently Root Sportswear is a fairly new company (founded 2016) and describes themself as, "Root Sportswear is all about the hand sign. We know your team’s hand sign represents your school just as much as it’s logo. That’s why we created a unique line of college game day merchandise focused exclusively around it. Now you can flash your hand sign in style."

    * Pick an entrance song people know and stick with it.  Loved the "Thunderstruck" intro we used during the Dickey years.  Make it a tradition similar to Va Tech and Enter Sandman.  Lights going crazy, fireworks, etc...

Always thought "A Certain Shade of Green" was an obvious choice

    • The title has a clear connection to our nickname
    • The song overall has a good energy
    • The Intro has a clear impact moment for the team to take the field
    • The crowd joining to yell "a certain shade of green" together would be cool

  6. I think this is your answer. Seems the prudent approach for the student not pushing to play spring ball at the new school...

After you initiate the transfer process, your current scholarship should remain intact. Your scholarship for the following academic term, however, is not guaranteed. If you end up rescinding the transfer and decide to stay at your current school, your scholarship could be in jeopardy. Once your current school knows you intend to transfer, they can rescind any scholarship offers for the next semester, quarter, or trimester. They may even give it to another student-athlete. This won’t matter if you transfer.

  8. I understand coaches who are conditioned to provide as little information as possible when interviewed or in a press conference but it's certainly refreshing when a coach like GM comes across as candid and honest when discussing the team and program. Exciting to hear him speak of expanding the offense and explaining that the glacial pace and approach in recent years was intentional and strategic to match the strength of the roster/rotation. Sounds like his focus is tailoring the style of play to players rather than being rigid to a specific system.
