Good for him. He seemed like a good coach. Curious to see how he navigates his team w/out the big NIL support that SMU had.

Rice will be different.  High academics, standards, morals, class....everything $mut is not.

But can he coach them to hit their free throws in the clutch, and to finish those bunnies at the rim!

Lots of missed opportunities this season.  We were streaky within most games.  Easy layups would have been great instead of the circus slam dunks that failed.   Out-of-control ball handling into the paint for a turnover, an extra muffed pass causing the shot clock to expire, poor free-throws that would have sealed a win, etc.  Ross hopefully will clean up much of it.

The team needs more play-ready reserves, 3 Bigs instead of 2, 3 power forwards instead of 1, more inside game instead of just outside.  Year 2 will be interesting from the roster makeover and retention standpoint.

It's actually pretty amazing that this has happened... and the hustle still hasn't fallen apart for the schools. They can just crowdsource the work force AND get them to pay to watch them play. They get them coming and going!

Fans will not continue supporting college football financially for long the way it is trending.  The NFL ties players to teams by contracts for specific years.  College players now can leave programs anytime.  The pay isn't the issue, the lock-down of the player to the school is the biggest issue.

We need shooters.  TCU's starting five could all shoot and all ended up in double figures.  When our opponents can shut down Lampkin and Kernal inside, we have a tough time.  TCU's post, 6'7" Prince, was incredible.  Typically, and I don't mean this in a bad way, but a woman this size is not very coordinated.  Prince was incredible as was Connor that had an unbelievable shot.

Never the less, I really enjoyed following this team this year.  They never gave up, always hustled and played hard and obviously enjoyed playing together.  They have a lot to be proud of and will look back on this year as something special.

This.  We got outshot 34% to 53%, and we took 20 more shots from the floor than TCU.  If we just make 5 of those 20 we win.

When the ACC took in Cal, Stanford and SMU wasn't that a signal that they had resigned themselves to the fact that they would have to negotiate and accept an early exit for Clemson and Florida St?

Yes.  Several schools (7) were exploring exit strategy from the ACC when the SEC and Big10 were in full expansion mode.  The ACC didn't want a PAC12 situation. The invites were insurance in case 2-3 schools left the conference that it would remain whole.

Sucks that the game is being played in such a small venue.  All the tickets were quickly scarfed up by Seton Hall fans.  I'm on a wait-list, but that isn't happening.  Seton Hall is handling all the ticket sales.  Seems like they should have set aside at least a few for the visiting team.

You might contact our Ath Dept.  I bet we were comped some player/staff tickets that perhaps could go unused.

CLEMSON: "these exit fees are too much!"

ACC: "they were on the contract when you signed the dotted line."

CLEMSON: "but this isn't the same conference we signed up for!"

*NEXT CONFERENCE* "So, here are our exit fees.  Are you okay with them, or are we supposed to account for future realignments for you?"

I believe both FSU and Clemson have a pending verbal deal waiting (SEC/BIG10) for when they escape the ACC.  Otherwise they wouldn't be paying lawyers to file suit.  There will be a mutually acceptable agreement that will allow them out since the ACC already has their replacement$.

Shouldn't that say they host the defending NIT champion North Texas on Saturday.

They are looking past us...the article already mentions when they would host the quarterfinal game next week when (if) they win.

"Was SMU in the conference at the time, depreciating the ACC from a quality P5 program into a laughingstock/craphole?"

    "No."

"It would be cruel and unusual punishment to force you to be in this situation.  You are free to go with no exit fees, and SMU's donors will be required to pay your legal fees as well as to repay your emotional distress."

Yes, it's no coincidence that these lawsuits by FSU and Clemson to get out of the ACC were filed after $mut was admitted into the ACC.

Jason Terry started maybe a dozen games for the Mavs during their championship season. You are comparing him to a superstar and not a normal player. Sure this would’ve a relevant statement if Jones or Scott were coming off the bench. Other than them any other mix of players could start or come off the bench.

The discussion started with Allen vs Sissoco.  Sissoco could be deemed a returning starter from the NIT tourney I guess, once Abou left us.  But in nearly every game this season Allen has outplayed him and warrants starting to get him max minutes.

Multiple coaches would disagree with the opinion that teams should start all their best players.

Sorry, far more coaches would say start your best players.  In all sports.

Have you shared this with Coach Hodge, he needs to know.

In 2022 Tylor Perry came off the bench and was first team all CUSA.

Perry's new coach starts him.  Maybe that's why he left?  lol
