I'm all for Baseball, IF...
1- We have expanded the athletic center
2- Built a new basketball arena
3- Fully supported our existing sports in all the ways Baker and Co. think they need to be supported
4- Have an NIL Collective that helps us compete with our conference peers
5- Can add it without creating any Title IX issues
6- Have the funds to add baseball without taking anything from existing sports
I feel like some of the bigger schools have a lot of these sports-focused donors. We're far from there though.

is this on the Samsung TV Channel package? If so that is awesome. Thanks for the heads up
Yeah. Its all the channels that come with it. I was pleasantly surprised when I got the NT v Lat Tech game and didnt have to connect my computer.

It was fun watching the softball team advance and see them play on national TV and it would be a nice spring capper to the end of the academic for a baseball team to do the same. I dont know about the rest of you (and I'm not the biggest baseball fan) but watching the NCAA baseball tournament was fun and 10x more fun if NT was in it.
If there is a group of people specifically focused on funding baseball, that's awesome. Wren is focused on making improvement in other realms and I respect him for that. Good things take time and focus.

If you have a Samsung TV Stadium is automatically included.

Website is pretty clean honestly. I know we bag on SMU but you've gotta adjust to the changing landscape and they are doing just that. I'm hopeful that we can step up to the plate in this changing landscape.
Not a great start that our initial invite looks like it was designed on MS Paint.

No one is forcing them to play football. This is not a slave labor camp. It's actually an honor to get a scholarship (a FREE education) or to just make the team as a walk-on.
Also, I don't hear other athletes in other sports wanting a salary. Don't basketball, golf, volleyball, track, etc athletes all have the same sport demands and lifestyle on campus?
If you do a little research, youll see volleyball, track, water polo, and athletes who play these non revenue sports are getting some incredible NIL deals.
These players bring a lot of revenue to the schools, and honestly, it's nice to see them getting paid for their labor. And yes, some of you will say "isn't a scholarship enough"? But if you bring a school $1 million ,or in Johnny Football's case, help A&M fundraise something like $800 million, is the cost of attendance enough?

"Same RV that oversaw one of the below average athletic departments in FBS." We've always had a below average Athletic Dept up until the last 4-5 years. Think of the school President we had during his tenure, up until Smastrek took over.
meanrob, I understand what you're saying, and you are correct. I'm for giving RV a second chance, just not at running our Athletic Department.
Same RV that also cultivated some of these donors…. Love that he is staying involved. We need as many good people as possible to compete

Ha! I knew SMU and TCU had them (Thanks, @Brett Vito article), I just didn’t know if the UAB’s, UTSA’s, and LaTech’s of the world also had collectives. Excited to give our student athletes a chance to earn some greens while helping us win! GMG!
I know UTSA does , not sure about the other two

I’ll say this.
They showed more support after 2 wins than the long process to create and team, budget, and land in the tournament.
Ah. Thanks for clarifying. Yeah that's BS.
I also wish they would promote the alumni playing abroad by RTing, etc as well

It's a shame that Bleed Green got almost no support from our Athletic Department who wouldn't recognize a marketing opportunity if it bit them on the ass.
I mean they posted on Twitter?? What else did you want them to do

Why? Do you think we’ll get a P5 invite, because that’s the only thing that would prevent it
Emmitt, you should not be drinking green kool aid on a Monday night

That was an absolute blast to watch. So fun to support the Mean Green over the summer and that was a cool atmosphere to see in Wichita. Love the fans showing up for the school like that.
@flyonthewall hopefully even more donors participate next year and we can get more UNT alums playing next year. Would be fun to see McBride (after this next year), Hamlet, Geu, and some more older alums from Shorter's year (would love to see Josh White play again) on the court.

Gotta be Diet Coke Man by now.
When you saw him what was he drinking?
Definitely not Diet Coke that's for sure.
He also probably thinks I'm an idiot for posting this on the forum.

How would you feel if we went 7-0 and then got blasted by a winless UTSA squad in WK8?
pretty good because we'd still be 7-1.

Regardless of all these rumors for some reason I don't believe we'll ever actually play SMU in conference...

I don't know who that guy is, but that is not the real "Diet Coke Guy."
Maybe this was a stand-in for a game.
The true DCG is a very good friend of mine and part of my tailgate if anyone wants an autograph this upcoming season (with my agent fee, of course).
Honestly I had to drop your name and the fact that I played at one of the GMG basketball classics to establish some legitimacy with him

Hmmm, at the risk of sounding a bit overly sensitive, how about "diet coke guy", or (as they might say in the movie credits) "diet coke wrangler".
Diet Coke young professional.

Not the right forum but this issue is a lot more nuanced than just that.
