  1. Does anyone really not want to beat the crap out of them? I want to beat the crap out of anyone NT lines up across from, whether its Texas, SMU, a team of trannies in chaps, or the Dallas Cowboys.

Some may view this as just another OOC game that has no real meaning in winning the Sun Belt Conference and going to the NO Bowl. Let's not get our boy injured before conference games start. dry.gif

  2. "Contacts" like Sherwood Blount who would implement a system of pay for play so Ron Mier could give cash $$$ awards for such on the field accomplishments as most tackles, yards gained, highlight reel plays, etc. for each and every game.

And thus began "Management By Objectives" in college sports.

I would also like to retract by earlier comments on this board about "stopping the SMU bashing". DallasGreen has made a believer out of me. I say,

"BEAT THE CRAP OUTTA THE SUMBITCHES!"

  3. Like my staunch old aggie brother-in-law said, "Franchione is nothing more than a WAC level coach trying to make it in the Big 12". Although I've seen lower level coaches move up and make it in the "big time", I have to agree with his assessment of coach Fran.

In my opinion, less than a winning season and/or a bid to one of the better bowls, Francione will be fired. And no, I wouldn't want him at NT. I'd rather have Slocum.

  4. I'm just looking forward to the opportunity to tase another one of their players so he can cry about it in the DMN months after the fact.  Poor pony interfered with the police doing their jobs and got to ride the lightning.  How will I ever sleep at night?  dry.gif

Heh heh. And it was all legal too. tongue.gif

  5. maybe I am the odd ball here, but I think that a degree in sports administration is kind of a pre-requisit for a sports administrator.

Not trying to argue, but what did all of the BCS and top tier athletic programs throughout the country do for fundraising and facility upgrades before sports administration degrees became in vogue? Bad example here, but I doubt the Univ of Texas had a sports administration degreed person to generate financial support during their first 100 years in athletics.

  6. I do not know how many of you saw any games in the old "Pit" in '68, '69 & '70 but that place would shake from all the stomping of the feet on the wooden stands and yelling in that accoustically challenged building.

I also enjoyed the Saturday afternoon games at the Snake Pit. Plenty of time to "party on" the rest of the weekend. rolleyes.gif

  7. When I was at UNT (NTSU), the MVC had higher academic standards than the SWC or the NCAA minimums.

I was at NTSU at the same time and I can say that SWC basketball couldn't hold a candle (or a jockstrap) to the Missouri Valley Conference. It was a top notch basketball conference back then.

  8. To the Denton locals and DFW area NT fans, I have a question for you. Does the NT Athletic Department have any radio/TV advertising campaigns promoting the Mean Green Club? Traveling to the office in the morning, while listening to a popular radio station, more times than not I hear a short spot promoting the Cardinal Club at Lamar University. Like the MG Club, the Cardinal Club helps provide scholarships for Lamar Student athletes.

I would think that North Texas would do the same type of promoting to garner more membership in the Mean Green Club. Subsequently, increased membership should translate to more athletic ticket sales.

Where do we stand on promotions? huh.gif
