  1. In other news USC falls to Oregon St. This has to help out Boise St.'s chances for a BCS bid. Helps their poor SOC , the Broncos crushed Oregon State earlier this year 42-14

Yes, USC losing today make my day just freakin perfect. Now UT is one step closer to defending their national title. Come on SEC!!! And Big East!!!

  2. The drop on the onside kick was all Muzzy.  I think it was a good call.  They expect it less at 10 than at 2.  The burned timeouts, the rediculous penaltys, yeah those fall on the coaching.  The penaltes fall on Etheridge I think 6 or 7 of 9 were on the O-Line and thats nothing new for the season.  He is an AWEFUL O-Line coach and needs to be gone immediately.

I agree about the O-line but the problems go SO MUCH deeper. Can anyone answer "yes" to a single one of these questions?

    1)Are we a disciplined team?

2)Do we call "smart" plays on offense? Plays that counter what the defense is showing?

3)Would we be even as successful as we are if not for the miraculous plays of our star players? Do they have to use their talents in spite of the coaching instead of in conjunction with it?

4)With the horrible product that is on the field are our coaches doing their best to be good-will ambassadors of the program?

5)With what is being put out there can you expect season ticket sales or MGC donations to go up?

6)Can you expect a donor/donors to come forward with money for MUCH NEEDED facilities?

Let me answer for you....NO!!!! to every question.

  3. This isn't one of those "I'm done with NT football...wait, I'm back" posts...I am seriously done unless Dickey is gone at year's end. This is the worst coached, worst disciplined football team in the country bar fucking none!!!!

We can't get out of our own way long enough to sniff succeeding.

We can't get plays in without taking timeouts!

If we DO manage to get into enemy territory we run plays that go freakin backwards!

The only way we manage any yardage is by sacrificing the bodies of our best players...how damn sore do Jamario and JQuinn have to be in order for us to gain yardage due to boneheaded pass calls, amazing feats of skill or willpower by them, or RUNNING AGAINST STACKED FRONTS?

I don't care if we win every game the rest of the year (we won't) this house had better be cleaned by year's end!!!! Otherwise count me out and you may as well forget about building a fanbase because NOBODY will jump on a bandwagon that broke down and in flames.

  4. This is awesome. I'll never have to write another internal affairs letter in my career. I can sum up my response to every complaint with "There's no way that was police brutality, unprofessional service, derelection of duty, etc because these citizens have never been police officers. They don't know what they're talking about."

  5. Are we REALLY having this discussion? Waste Tune's redshirt so that we can "see what we have"? Usually I take people who are thinking like this to jail because they have either crack or meth in their back pocket.

We have NO IDEA what we have at the QB position, at least not with Woody or Phillips. No quarterback can show what he is capable of when he is both handcuffed by the playbook and running for his life on every down. Saying you can honestly evaluate what a quarterback hs under these circumstances is like saying you can judge a wide receiver when you allow pass interference on every play. He has NO chance.

  6. I see people time and again pose the question "What happened to the team that beat SMU?" or the revision of the same "How did we beat SMU if we are this bad?" Folks, we are that bad. What you saw against SMU was a team, from DD and RF down to the Diet Coke boy that had SMU circled on their calendars. They worked on SMU gameplanning all Spring and Fall. They knew that to our fan base SMU was the super bowl. When else , ever, have you seen the UNT bookstore with t-shirts advertising a football game 2 months BEFORE the season starts?

So, let's all collectively back away from the notion that if this team was able to beat SMU they should have a shot against everyone else. They don't. Our coaching staff lacks both the months to prepare and the desire to beat anyone else. Playing Woody Wilson against SMU was a calculated move, true enough, but let's also not proclaim it a brilliant one. SMU had never seen him play and, true enough, we left some doubt as to what they would face at the QB position. It would have been a brilliant move had it been followed with ANY attempt to show a new wrinkle to the rest of the teams on our schedule. Then it would look like a pattern of innovation and not just a one time fortunate turn of events.

  7. UNT's Quinn sees streak end

North Texas senior wide receiver Johnny Quinn saw his streak of 41 consecutive starts come to an end against Arkansas State. UNT coaches made a game-time decision that he would not be able to play with a sprained ankle suffered in practice last week. Only 10 players in Division 1-A had started more consecutive games than Quinn, heading into the week, led by Fresno State center Kyle Young, who had made 45 straight starts.

Quinn's streak 42 straight games with a reception, which ranks third nationally, will continue.

    Source?

  8. Horrible clock management by Schnelly and his team on the last drive. They ran when it was obvious a pass was the better option....wait, where have I seen that?

And a delay of game for snapping before they were ready for play?

And yet, because this is the belt, they only lose 6-0.

It's scary that we really could run the table in this conference. ohmy.gif

  9. Emmitt all due respect but we just found out that our Head Coach had a heart attack. I am relieved to hear that he is recovering at home but I don't see this as a time to start debating the future of our program.

I think this is the time to wish Coach Dickey and his family a speedy recovery.

Perhaps the tenor of my post didn't come across correctly. Obviously Dickey's health is the foremost concern.
