The Big 10 has had a poor Bowl showing this year. Overrated? Maybe.
I've got Florida in the upset.
Big 10's 2-0 against the SEC in bowls so far.

Who cares...Boise St. are the real National Champs.
If Florida wins, Boise St. might have a legitimate gripe. But if Ohio State wins, especially if even somewhat convicingly, they deserve to be undisputed national champs. We tip our hat to Boise St. for pulling a rabbit out of the hat in beating OU to wrap up a great season, but that does not hold a candle to Ohio State's victories over UT, Michigan, and perhaps Florida.

I'm really starting to worry that we're about to become Southlake - North Campus. And that'll be fine if we can compete...but just bringing in your buddies and former players really screams of Parcells-esque and, to use a word everyone seems to use about RV, cronyism.
I'd say if we can sign most of the top SLC players, that's the beginning of a great recruiting class!

Unfortunately I can't watch it, as I am located far from the Metroplex. Is there any way to purchase videotapes/DVDs (?) of that and other (e.g., the Jason Mills comeback against Oregon State, Mitch Maher against McNeese State) great games?

But they have earned the $ they make, but more important they play by the rules....Name me something that the Yankees do illegally to get top players....Not until MLB does soemthing to even things out they will always have a taller stack than everyone else at the table. But in a way the Yankees are a great example of this capitalistic society we live in. The Yankees and Irish are haves compared to the have nots. People like to gripe, but they have earned their status....just like a student who has paid his dues, worked hard (and smart), and now they get to reap the benefits.
Just my view of the issue.

I don't know how much you can call ND and the Yankees "pull 'emselves up by the bootstraps" success stories. The Yankees, in particular, have a built-in fan base being a storied franchise in a major metropolitan area. What I would like to see is UNT use the great assets at its fingertips--while not a "storied franchise," we are the largest university in a large football-crazy metropolitan area with a large student body and alumni base. Who knows what could happen if the right buttons were pushed at the right time?

I would love to be added, if you would be so kind. Let me know any info you might need. Thanks!

Too cool. Now I'm equipped to post in style. Thanks!

You have to realize that TD is not going to pressure his son to play for NT if he felt his career could be better served at another university. I certainly would hope Riley would have the decency (and common sense!) to stay away from SMU and TCU, but clearly we have had some players who never got a fair look from the Sunday league because they played for UNT. But if he chose to come, he has already shown that he fits in perfect with TD's high school system - got to be a great fit for UNT Dodgeball!

I bought my class ring through ArtCarved back in '98. It seemed to me their rings were of a slightly higher quality than Jostens at the time.

Somebody in an earlier thread mentioned how Darrell Royal told Hayden Fry that NTSU would get 1/2 of the gate from the game against UT because, as he saw it, North Texas was 1/2 of the game. What a different attitude from this fella!
