  1. As posted per the other thread we don't retain many of the TAMS students after they finish that program here. If that is so then what benefit does North Texas get out of having the TAMS program in the first place? Just curious?

    RIck

I don't know the exact workings of the TAMS program, but while the students are enrolled in the program, they are effectively enrolled at UNT. I would assume this means that UNT receives tuition money for each TAMS student. So that's a pretty basic benefit.

Plus, these kids are some of Texas' best and brightest--it's not shameful that UNT is the school that prepares them to go onward, just as it has prepared others to go on to receive law degrees at other universities.

Just a few thoughts on a late Valentine's Day night. I'd better shut things on down here at the office and get home to my wife.

  2. With the current logjam at QB, Vizza will most likely Redshirt. This has to be a huge factor in Riley's decision to join his dad at NT.

From what I got out of Coach Dodge's press conference, there is no way that Vizza will redshirt. Obviously he was sold on UNT in part because he will have the opportunity to compete for a starting job right off the bat.

  3. Question: Do we really want Riley now that we have Vizza?

Absolutely. I don't see Vizza taking a redshirt; and if Riley were to redshirt, it would give him 2 years of eligibility after Vizza's departure. Regardless, I don't think you can ever be "too solid" at the QB (or any, for that matter) position.

  4. (never mind the fact that he calls us Boise State). . . .

PLUMM....have you been talking to Mr. McMahon about how you want UNT to emulate Boise State again???

    . . .

For more on The Next Boise State's recruiting class, check out the Mean Green athletic department's recruiting blog (is an actual link on Tim McMahon's blog).

Considering the quality of football that UNT has produced the past 2 years, I can think of much less flattering comparisons some might make. I'll take it as a compliment, and look forward to forging our own identity in the near future.

  5. Earlier I tried to discourage sharing unlicensed mp3s that yield no income to the musician. I did my duty, but I acknowledge that most people feel that copyright is an outdated concept.

But the band does make a little money off the CDs, so consider buying them.

So is the website that has links to Sunbelt fight songs in violation of copyright law?
