As posted per the other thread we don't retain many of the TAMS students after they finish that program here. If that is so then what benefit does North Texas get out of having the TAMS program in the first place? Just curious?
RIck
I don't know the exact workings of the TAMS program, but while the students are enrolled in the program, they are effectively enrolled at UNT. I would assume this means that UNT receives tuition money for each TAMS student. So that's a pretty basic benefit.
Plus, these kids are some of Texas' best and brightest--it's not shameful that UNT is the school that prepares them to go onward, just as it has prepared others to go on to receive law degrees at other universities.
Just a few thoughts on a late Valentine's Day night. I'd better shut things on down here at the office and get home to my wife.

Thing is, Marty would still be with the Chargers if the Cowboys hadn't hired Phillips. The reason Marty was let go is because he and the G.M. were going at it again over whom they would bring in to be the new DC.

I was about to comment that this bill would completely get rid of any August football practice, but I re-read it and saw that it was limited to 13 and under. That's a different story, and that's not a bad bill.

Sniff Quoner's jock?

Let's see...We at UNT need to "take a hit" regarding our recent coach selection, yet UNT is only good enough to be a stepping-stone for Dodge? If a writer is going to try to insult us, he should at least avoid contradicting himself in one paragraph.
-
As long as he completes his career with class and dignity, his on-field accomplishments are already sufficient to lock him in to HOF.

Woody Wilson will not play at North Texas except as a QB.
-
I thank you gentlemen very much. Well done.

With the current logjam at QB, Vizza will most likely Redshirt. This has to be a huge factor in Riley's decision to join his dad at NT.
From what I got out of Coach Dodge's press conference, there is no way that Vizza will redshirt. Obviously he was sold on UNT in part because he will have the opportunity to compete for a starting job right off the bat.

I'd take'm both but who's counting? Both will be successful in D1A football and the only way Tre comes here is if TD pulls off a miraculous first season and wins 10+ games.
. . . and raises the ante.

Haven't had a chance to look at them all yet.....but I did see that Marquese Davis will be playing in the Oil Bowl.

Why is there no mention of Evan Fentriss? Is it just because he has to sit out next year, or did I miss something?

Is it over now, myscreen just went blank?
Seemed like they were still taking questions, but I guess they are not for us to hear.
Regarding highlights, most of it was review of things we knew. He mentioned that A.J. Penson was the best defensive player his teams had played against in the past 5 years.

From everything that I have read and believe, TD probably knows Texas football players better than most of the national experts that rate the players.
A very valid point.

Does anyone know his 40 time?
Rivals shows him at 4.82

I have not seen anything on this kid. ESPN still has undeclared. Maybe a grade thing?
Almost definitely a grade thing.

Question: Do we really want Riley now that we have Vizza?
Absolutely. I don't see Vizza taking a redshirt; and if Riley were to redshirt, it would give him 2 years of eligibility after Vizza's departure. Regardless, I don't think you can ever be "too solid" at the QB (or any, for that matter) position.
-
Considering the time constraints it's an "A" all the way.
Rick
Ditto - we've got to grade him on a curve this time.
And thinking about it, I'll make that an A+ because of that.
-
Ok now what do we do until August.
Maybe get some work done!
-
It is done...VIZZA LIVES
Viva la Vizza!

That was one scenario nobody thought of.

(never mind the fact that he calls us Boise State). . . .
PLUMM....have you been talking to Mr. McMahon about how you want UNT to emulate Boise State again???
. . .
For more on The Next Boise State's recruiting class, check out the Mean Green athletic department's recruiting blog (is an actual link on Tim McMahon's blog).
Considering the quality of football that UNT has produced the past 2 years, I can think of much less flattering comparisons some might make. I'll take it as a compliment, and look forward to forging our own identity in the near future.

From the DMN recruiting blog - [Trinity coach] Lineweaver praised the recruiting work of new North Texas coach Todd Dodge.
"Just Coach Dodge's name says a lot in the Metroplex," said Lineweaver. "He's established so much, and not just his job at Carroll High School but his camps there. He's a very good recruiter, and kids want to play for him."

Earlier I tried to discourage sharing unlicensed mp3s that yield no income to the musician. I did my duty, but I acknowledge that most people feel that copyright is an outdated concept.
But the band does make a little money off the CDs, so consider buying them.
So is the website that has links to Sunbelt fight songs in violation of copyright law?
