Well then, there's the main problem. If a North Texas graduate can't believe it, then why should we expect the recruits that we go after to believe that North Texas is a perfectly viable option to A$M...or any other D-1 school in Texas for that matter.
It isn't delusional to believe in your school. If we're such an unworthy school, then Todd Dodge would have said "no thanks" to us, just like he did to Rice.
We all had better start doing our part to promote this football program. If we expect Todd Dodge to do it all for us, then we'll end up missing another golden opportunity to move forward like we did with Hayden Fry.
When Hayden Fry took over as head coach back in 73, you couldn't have made him say that A$M (or any other SWC school) was better than North Texas...even if you held a gun to his head.
We must all have the same mind-set.....it's worked well for A$M all these years.
Good post. North Texas is a great school, with an excellent education, an up-and-coming football/athletics department, and if you haven't seen UNT's master plan yet, it will also be one of the most beautiful campuses around as well.

Does anyone still have the video link for the Mean Green village and Stadium that was posted a year or so ago ? If so, could you post it again. Thanks.

i would think something would come out:
A. Signing Day
B. Spring Game
C. University Day?
D. Sometime during spring practice
E. August... to get students excited
one thing I would advise all of you to look at is the UNT masterplan... its 144 pages and you can get it (at least I did) by searching on Google UNT Masterplan. Its really interesting to see what the expected future holds for UNT
That master plan is extremely exciting. I highly recommend that all of you take some time to look at it, and realize how great North Texas will soon become! The new stadium is in this plan, and so are the plans for Fouts Field's replacement in that area.

I think there should be a good North Texas sports bar there on Fry Street. Something with good food and a place to watch the game. What do ya'll think?

First off, I am now 2 for 2 on Basketball trivia during 2nd half timeouts! Yes that was me down there answering the toughest trivia questions they can throw out at me!
I was impressed with the way the team played defense. Defense on the perimeter really limited the outside shooting of the MUTS, and forced several turnovers. On offense we moved the ball around well, but sometimes we were reluctant to actually take a shot or get the ball down low. Keith Wooden was open in the paint all night, and we didn't get the ball to him enough. The MUTS made it close a few times, but never led in the game. Really fun game to watch!!!
(P.S., they give you the answer before they ask you the trivia question)
I was one of the contestants during a game last year. I thought it was funny that they give you the answer, but then again, who wants to look stupid in front of all those people anyway?

Dr. Pohl is a class act and a very intelligent man. I hope he stays at North Texas until he's ready to retire.

DITTO! Thanks guys. ya'll keep us in the loop and we appreciate it.
Absolutely. I think every member of this board owes each one of you guys about 50 beers. I wouldn't recommend drinking them all in one sitting though.

Thanks for all of the hard work that all of you admins do. Even though I don't post very often, reading GoMeanGreen has become a good habit of mine. My fiance doesn't like it to much, but she'll get over it.
Harry, I would love to have access to the premium content as well. Thanks.

Help out our fellow Sun Belt member Western Kentucky in the Capital One Fur Factor Mascot Challenge.
You can only vote once per day, so it won't take too much time away from voting for Caris.
It is extremely close right now. WKU has already moved into the Semifinals, and needs our help to get over the top.
After you vote for WKU, you can do a right-in vote for North Texas.

Enjoy!

I didn't see that notice on the site. Thanks for posting it. I guess that means we have to do real voting now. I'm OK with it, because now we're up by 20,000 votes!!!
That doesn't mean we can stop now. We have to kick them while they're down and run away with this competition! Keep voting!!!!
-
Not sure what just happened, but we went from down by 9,000 to up by 20,000 in about 30 minutes.
-
Great job guys!!! Let's keep it up!
-
This was posted about a month ago and Caris won the 3rd round. She is now in the final round and needs our votes again.

According to the boxscore on MeanGreenSports.com, Jamario didn't play tonight. Did anyone hear anything during the broadcast as to why?

I was just about to post this, but you beat me to it.
This is great news!!!
This could easily be the greatest Thanksgiving present ever!

Definately rooting for the Belt. We need as many wins as we can get.
North Texas Hats
in Mean Green Football
Posted
Agreed. I think it's physically impossible to wear too much North Texas gear. I still wear some old North Texas shirts from when I came to school in 2002.
Give me a minute while I dodge the bullets.
