I've also been obsessed with football since I went to jr. high and high school out in West Texas. (Go Abilene Eagles!) Football 101 is pretty basic. Coaches and players are introduced (not all of them) and last year the new uniforms were modeled by the players (yes, we saw the new stuff first). There is usually a question and answer session, some basic, some more involved, depending on the knowledge level of the participants. Last year Coach Dodge's new spread offense was heavily discussed. It's a lot of fun and you get to ogle the good looking young guys!
You also get a gift. Last two years it was a nice t-shirt. Tell her to come on out. GMG!

There's also a link if you go to Mean Green Club and then events where you can RSVP for Football 101. I've gone every year and wouldn't miss it!
We usually pick up our season tickets at the cookout, scheduled for August 2nd this year.GMG!

We've been planning on attending the Rice game since the day it was announced. Four of us will be going. I hope it is later than 4 pm since I don't want to die of heat stroke. Anybody heard about an NT hotel? We're planning on starying at the Renaissance. It's about 3 miles away from the campus.

Anybody have any info on gametime for the Rice game? I'm counting on an evening kickoff, otherwise I don't know if I can stand the Houston humidity and heat!

All I know is I paid to see him play, and he's getting paid to play. AfL gives players another opportunity to continue. I just thought it was good to see a UNT alum.

Attended the Desperados game last night following the great Spring Game (got a double dose of football!) and saw that former Mean Green DE Umar Muhammad is a FB/LB for the VooDoo. Great to see another NT alum in the pros. Muhammad and Desperado Josh White did a lot of jawin' and shovin' in a great game. Muhammad was a senior in '99 and has been in the AFL since 2000. Info from the VooDoo website:
Tallied 151 tackles and 19.5 sacks in 31 games as a defensive end at North Texas...Named first-team All-Big West Conference in 1999 following his senior season...Led the team in sacks (7) his junior season in 1998...Transferred from the University of New Mexico after freshman season...He led the Lobos in sacks with six while playing nose guard...Majored in social work at North Texas.

I hope they keep the video with the player whose eyes turn green. I love that! (I have a picture of it I took at the Navy game, but I don't know how to put it into my post. I have an iMac G5 if anyone can give me the instructions.)

I kinda' think they're just pulling numbers out of a hat. I don't think the numbers are indicative of tickets sold. It also may have something to do with type of account. Daughter's number is much higher than mine and were purchased at the same time. She has a recent grad account. Who knows?
