  1. Since the Sun Belt is such a weak conference, I say that we will still pull it off. Arkansas State and Troy look to be big contenders. We get both of them at home this season, but then I think after last night, "Is that really a good thing?" I voted yes, but we could stil go 4-7 too. There are so many inconsistencies that I really don't know what to expect. There are many teams in the top I-AA conferences like the Atlantic Ten and the Southland that could seriously compete in the SBC. One thing is for sure, I am no longer satisfied with just a NO Bowl appearance. If we ever want to join say Conference USA, we have to start being a lot more competitive OOC.
  2. Agreed. First game of the season plus having a 1-0 record instead of being slaughtered by a powerhouse, 22,000 is certainly possible. And if it's true that 22,000 have already been sold, that's great news because there will certainly be a large amount of gate sales and students showing up. Looking forward to hearing the actual number tonight and really wishing I was down there right now.
  3. Last time I checked, an average of 5.8 yards a carry wasn't that bad. If anything, that's very good news considering he's still not 100%.
  4. I'll be in there...Ophelia (although not a direct hit to me) will be keeping me indoors Not that I wouldn't be listening to the game anyway.
  5. If we were to beat Tulsa and K-State, I would think that we'd see North Texas in the "Others receiving votes" category. But I agree it would take atleast 11-1 to crack the top 25. Bet MGN didn't expect all this feedback for a joke post...
  6. That was in the book when I was in the GB ('00-'02). We used it for key defensive plays like forcing a 4th down, so they should still have it somewhere.
  7. And so far in this young season, those 5 turnovers currently put UNT #1 in the nation for turnover margin: http://web1.ncaa.org/d1mfb/natlRank.jsp?di...ermrgn&site=org
  8. I would consider that to be the wrong way to go about it. I've read a few absurd things on here...I've also read many insightful posts too. I feel that he should have kept that comment to himself, but I think we should avoid the "burn him at the stake" approach. If you're looking for an apology, harassing him at his home phone number (which hopefully will be removed from here, listed or not) is not the way to do it. Call the office, use e-mail and express your views in a way that will be taken serious. Otherwise, you're just giving him more fuel.
  9. It's troubling to hear that UNT would be considered too powerful for the Sun Belt. Look at how we have fared out of conference. It doesn't say much for the SBC when fans from other teams feel that it's time for us to go. I'm thrilled with the streak and all of the NO appearances, but I certainly do not feel that we have a powerful team yet. Still, I understand the frustration of seeing another team win year after year - I mean, I'm a Red Sox fan, I've been there too.
