  1. Watching the rivalry week games on TV this week and seeing the pitiful attendance as our game got me thinking of solutions. We heavily rely on student attendance for our games and most students go home for the holidays. If we are committed to playing every Thanksgiving weekend would it be beneficial for attendance both in Dentin and Dallas if we played SMU the Friday or Saturday after Thanksgiving? Hopefully someday we will be dominating our conference so these late season conference games will always be meaningful. However I believe regardless of our records more SMU and UNT fans would show up for a rivalry game regardless of our records.
  2. http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/12886474/major-college-football-attendance-hits-worst-average-2003 "UAB, which cut its football program but is considering reinstating it in the coming weeks, had the second-biggest rise, jumping from 10,548 fans per game to 21,841."
  3. 1) What's the actual/announced attendance? 2) Did it turn out that Rex Rollins won't be able to play at all anymore, or is he still rehabbing? Also for those of you who missed the fun of watching the game on TV yesterday, the announcers were like, "Who's #99? He's not even on the roster...the Mean Green are having to invent new players because everybody else has already gotten a piece of SMU!" Haha that was pretty awesome. Eventually they figured out it was Andy Flusche.
  4. Per an article that tells the tale of "dwindling" (little bit of exaggeration there) attendance figures across FBS and notably the BCS contenders, look at how we fare... http://www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2012/12/college_football_regular-seaso.html#incart_flyout_sports We're among the 51 schools that showed forward progress in increased home attendance, albeit labeled as a "minor increase" over the year before. I don't care. Considering where our overall attendance places us on that list, even a minor increase looks really good.
