Growing up, we had a phrase we would say when one of our pals got mad and walked off the game.
"Winners never quit, quitters never win."
We're probably too old for that now, but it was the first thing that came to my mind when I read the above.

12 Dancers
5 cheerleaders (2 female-3 male)
Welcome back cheerleaders. We missed you.
Is this all the cheerleaders we have left ?
-
The over/under I was refering to was how many Dancers and cheerleaders would be at the game.
NT will "jack the lumber" up SFA
I again say 8 Dancers and zero cheerleaders.
-
The schedule card is in your season ticket packet.
-
I'm going tonight for the SFA game (with former NT player Danny Kaspar Head Coach at SFA)
I'm betting zero cheerleaders show up (just like the last 3 games)
And I'll say 8 Dancers are not only present, but rocking the Super Pit.
Place your bets now. Results tonight after the game.

A few years ago the part of the band would come to the alum side and play the fight song from the "equator" between the upper and lower sections. That hasn't been done in a while. I'd like to see the Dancers come over as well and do a routine with the band on the equator.
-
So who represents the students when no cheerleaders show up ?
-
Well maybe you're right. Aside from the NT Dancers, we have NO ONE in uniform on the sidelines.
The Dancers were there again last night. They got off work, they had to drive in, they finished studying, they didn't make excuses.
They just show up.
-
Well, I don't understand that, but for the third game in a row, there are NO cheerleaders at a NT Basketball game.
What did this tyrant want you to do ? Actually show up for a game ? Act interested ?
One thing you can say for the NT cheerleaders...when the going gets rough, they quit.
-
very good.

"Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men ?"

Well maybe, but neither one of them saw any action against Houston.
By the way, I really like your avatar MG Buzz. It would look great on a North Texas Cycling Team jersey.
-
I think she looks great and now that the Dancers have gotten the right shade of green, I think they look great.
Oh yeah... and they're always there.
-
Happy New Year Plumm.
And thanks for single handedly re invigorating the term, "hellsbells."
-
Please COGreen. Go into detail for all of us.

NT appeared to be the visiting team at our own gym today. The Houston crowd owned the band and yelled wildly when NT was at the line. When Houston went to the line, I felt like we were in church.
We have a good team this year. Better than our fans.
-
Just got back from the NT-Houston game. Outstanding.
Again, there wasn't a cheerleader to be found. Now maybe, they were under the stands, but I couldn't see any. Second game in a row where the cheerleaders were A.W.O.L.
The Dancers, although only 5, were there along with Scrappy.
This was an opportunity to show off in front of a top 25 team.
The Houston fans modified our band's tunes and used them to fit "go Cougar" chants. The Coogs dominated the "defense, defense" and razing the shooters at the free throw line.
Dump the cheerleaders
Boost the Dancers

I've got no problem with CO Green or anyone. However, I get tired of the (lack of ) cheerleaders with all their lame excuses as to why they can't do their jobs.
Surely these people knew there were basketball games during the week as well as weekends when the tried out for the squad.
I find it hard to believe that the Dancers have an easier schedule than ALL the cheerleaders. However, with rare exception, the Dancers are out in full force. Spotting a cheerleader at a basketball game has become like "Where's Waldo."
Disband the cheerleaders.
DANCE, DANCE, DANCE
-
Tell me CO, What awful things did the new coach ask the cheerleaders to do ?
Did he/she want you at the games ?
Want you there on time ?
What was so unreasonable that you and others felt you had to quit ?
-
ding, ding,ding, ding.
A gentleman after my own heart.
-
I understand what you're saying. And I understand this young man could be shy about being the only person that showed up. I think this makes my case for disbanding the cheerleaders and just making due with 12 very pretty and talented dancers. That do show up.
-
Break given.
What good does it do to have the best cheerleaders in the nation if they don't show up ?
-
Dump the cheerleaders. Boost the budget for the dancers.
If someone is looking for an excuse, they will find it. I bet if NT were in the New Orleans Bowl, there wouldn't have been a single cheerleader quit. No bowl game/no show up.
Jennifer Cloutier (sp) and the NT Dancers show up for any thing that involves a ball of any shape. I'm sure they work, go to school, live out of town, have a sick grandmother, etc. They just seem to get the job done.
dump the cheerleaders.
Dance, dance, dance.
PS. to sportsguy-
I was at the game Monday night. If there was a cheerleader of any gender there, he was well hidden. One of the ways we know the cheerleaders are at an event is that we can see them. An invisible cheerleader is not a cheerleader. Joe

Best bowl season in recent memory?

I hope Texas wins the National Championship, and I'm looking foward to going to Austin next August (or Sept, whatever) and playing the National Champs.
And as far as a great bowl season, it's not because we're not in it.
I haven't been using my usual signature lately, but it's back...
