Do you think that Coach Martin was hired by Syracuse just to (try to) get former players that he might have considerable influence with? Wasn't there some sort of moratorium on this?
I believe the moratorium is linked to the coaching duties. Something to do with “on field “ positions versus others

With all due respect the sun bowl should be in top 7. An awesome venue to watch a game in. I highly encourage all Mean Green fans to stay at Camino real in early October and witness a Mean Green victory under the desert night. It’s pretty awesome. The Dome belongs on the bottom 2 it’s a dump. GMG
2I think the Camino Real might actually be shut down for now undergoing a major renovation. There are a few new Hotels that have/ are opening downtown.

Hopefully, this is another good Oklahoma connection

Per Football Scoop
A new rule regarding redshirts that a lot of college coaches were advocates for has passed by a vote from the Division I Council.
Division I athletes who are designated redshirts can now participate in up to four games in a season without using a season of competition.
The new rule change will be effective for the 2018-19 football season.

This has to be the best 1-2 punch we have seen at UNT maybe in history? Now if we have a running game we will be able to add the 3rd punch. Guyton needs to crush it! GMG
Guyton could be a game changer. He will get a lot of double teams. Will be interesting to see what schemes the coaches come up with to get the ball in his hand and take avenge of the other players who are receiving weaker coverage

North Texas: Shelby McIntyre is the new football recruiting coordinator. McIntyre previously worked as a graduate assistant in the Boise State recruiting department.

Perhaps its the coaches way motivate him and say it's time to step up your game.

Would be nice to see the NCAA supplement the cost of these helmets for EVERY member school. Take it out before they distribute the $$ to schools (would be interesting to see the P5's complain and then have to justify why all players safety is not important).

Helps when you have a 1st-round draft pick at QB. I wonder what this number will be next season.
$160 dollars

Ranked as the #2 G5 QB. Nice!

Head over to Tyler (TJC or UTT) and get one of their coaches

Not on the UTEP bandwagon, but with a new AD, FB, and BB coaches there seems to be a growing interest, similar to our recent changes. Will be interesting to follow. Interested to see how Chico does (he does seem to put his heart into it)

Would also have been nice if they renamed the Athletics dorm after him.

This is the important part. Most area kids have no idea what we have built. You hear that from them all the time when the finally do get here and see the facilities.
Let's not forget, in this day and age of transfers it can never be a bad thing to leave a great memory on UNT in their minds.

Great for all three UNT players!
...but the drought continues.
Not saying it's not correct, but why the need to add a negative in on the celebration for these 3?

Maybe they can be roommates

Having watched this guy for years I can say I would not vote for him for anything. He is a great talker but gets NOTHING done (except using his influence to get his family out of trouble). I keep trying to find out how much of his money came from out-of-state.

Is this not concerning to anyone? Hopefully the bleeding stops, because if we loose anyone else we could be in for a long season. We have lost very little offense, however Lawson and Holston both brought length, athleticism, and defense. We are very undersized already. Hopefully we get some length and defense to replace these guys.
Welcome to modern Division 1 BB. Lots of transfers every year.

Might have my story wrong, but didn't Dale's daughter go to UNT?

It's his freshman year--as of right now, he's in position to be the #2 his sophomore year and start his junior year. Of course, things could change with that; but as things presently stand, talking about Pearson transferring out has crossed beyond premature and into ludicrous.
Don't get me wrong, I hope Cade stays and it works out like you say. However, it seems more and more in today's environment, players are transferring, especially if new players are added at their positions.

No disrespect to Quinn, but I had hoped Cade would have come out of the spring at number two. With the (expected) talent coming, I could see Cade transferring out after next year if he does not move into the backup role.

So in the future, we could see many schools with only men's Football and Basketball and an equal number of women's scholarships (Title 9). You may also see a lot of schools dropping football.
How many will chance sitting the bench at a P5 versus the "lower pay" of a G5
In the end, a lot of men and women will lose the opportunities. The end of college sports is on the way.

Sorry but after watching Last Chance U and seeing the number of players that ended up at FAU I am more convinced than ever he is running a dirty program.
