  1. If Leach leaves for any one of several openings, you will probably find the TT AD making a call to Waco, TX.
  2. Fox Sports needs to prep their sideline reporter a little better, when he interviewed Seth Gardner after the TD catch............he made mention of Petrino looking forward to him playing football at UA, wrong...........he's playing baseball. Staying with the football connection, he said something along the line of Seth getting a lot of football offers, even though he was going to play baseball................and to that Seth replied, no he hadn't. If your going to have highlights in your hair AND report on football, you should be a good looking female.
  3. Are you forgetting someone in this conference or is it going to be the new Big 11.
  4. You ask if the name is racist? Not sure if I'm qualified to determin what racism is, typically we only hear about one way racism via the news but since you asked, check with his teammates since they came up with the name..............as they like to say "go to the source to get to the root of the problem." "Mosley’s black teammates at UNT, by the way, have tagged him with the nickname “White Lightning.”" Heck, I thinks it's sorta funny.
  5. After glancing over the report hurriedly, on the surface it seems to be a nice award, the mens and womens sports are close to equals. If I'm reading between the lines, it seems to say that these "winners" lag behind the big time/bigger name schools in the men's coaches salaries, budgets, etc. etc. None of the more recognizable athletic powers in mens sports seem to be high on this list. It seems to suggest, which list do you value more, equality or success on the playing field?
  6. I admire the coach at BSU for staying, guess he figured there was more to life than big $ to make one happy. On the other side of the spectrum, one of the big boys, Papa Joe at Penn St, who wasn't of my favorites over the years earned my respect when after years of trying to find out what he made, it was released he made in the neighborhood of 500K. His response to the other high profile coaches making in excess of 3 mil............how much can my wife and me spend? I don't need that much. I guess it all come down to how one goes about determining what kind of measuring stick he wants to use.
  7. The article pretty much tells it like it is/was last year. It was fun to see who was going to fall next.......last year. Too bad a Northwestern or Boise St don't come along every year, Hawaii proved how hard it is to pull it off. The only thing it didn't mention was most of these up and coming coaches, who have beaten the big boys end up joining the big boys when the $ are waved in front of them after some success.
  8. Conflicted................that's how I started out, a UT mother and an A&M dad.
  9. I'm new to this board but this thread is the best one I've read in several months of reading: "Question: What is the general fitness level/athletic ability general needed to play? " "I have instituted a new "Ringer" clause" "If you can stand up, run even a little" Only item of importance I didn't hear mentioned: availability of trainers or ambulance. Sounds like the best season ticket value offered at NT.
  10. Just like the first initials in my name, my blood runs orange, although I received my degree from A&M.
  11. Since one Horn has surfaced, I might as well come out of the closet. As my name suggests, you can tell where I've been. Have a son attending NT so I've been keeping up with the football happenings. I'm from Ennis, so I've been following TD for a number of years.
