  1. Didn't Florida Atlantic get beat 66-23 this past weekend or something...by Arkansas State??? In my mind that is FAR worse than either of our losses to Tulsa or Kansas State. Tulsa was disappointing, Kansas State was supposed to whip our ass, but if we lose to Arkansas State by 40+, then it's time to seriously question where Dickey has to program headed. I don't know why you mention the Florida Atlantic coach in your post when they got their hides tanned by another Sun Belt team.
  2. MORE PICS OF DANCERS PLEASE!! JUST KIDDING...NICE TO SEE ALL THE GREAT PICTURES.
  3. The Whitewright Tigers won 33-27 over Farmersville. I don't know what kind of possibilities RB Karrington Bush has to play in college, but he is a hell of a running back in 2A Whitewright. He carried the ball 22 times for 277 yards and two touchdowns Friday. Probably not a future Mean Green prospect, but fun to watch in small school football!!
  4. Before someone jumps down my throat...when I mention #21 in my post above, I was pulling numbers at random. I now see Jamario is the #21 RB on the list.
  5. I saw Jamario a lot last year and he is a fantastic running back. I've been paying attention to UNT football for about 7 years and he is by far the most talented back I've seen at UNT. However, we are talking about the Top 5 running backs in the nation. That is really elite company. We've seen Jamario play one season and as great as that season was, to say he is one of the Top 5 backs in all of college football is pretty tough to do. As for the argument that most of the media hasn't seen Jamario play a game, ask yourself if you have seen much action from the other 20-25 guys on the list. It could be that you would be just as impressed with #13, #15, and #21 if you watched them play every down in a given season. It's a stupid list and it doesn't really matter...but the Top 5 running backs in college football is extremely elite company. I say all UNT fans should just be pleased that two UNT backs are in the Top 25! I think North Texas is getting loads of respect from the media since they think 2 of the Top 25 running backs are in Denton. How much more respect do you want??
  6. Or could it be that Patrick and Jamario benefit from our system much like Texas Tech quarterbacks benefit from their system? Although Texas Tech quarterbacks put up more passing yards than anyone, nobody considers them to be Top 5 quarterbacks. Almost every starting running back for UNT the past 5 years has put up pretty nice rushing stats. Does it hurt the respect of Patrick and Jamario that they won the rushing title in consecutive years? Many might believe that any running back could have run for 170 yards/game in our system? I'm not saying I believe this to be true, just a thought as to why many might believe they are not Top 5 backs in the country. There might be something to that.....
  7. I started a dynasty last night and beat UT in the first game of the season on All-American also. This game has really given UNT lots of respect. I was behind 14-10 with 1:38 in the 4th and I had the ball on my own 25 yard line. Scott Hall led one of the most impressive drives ever right down the field. I think I completed 3 HUGE 3rd downs! The touchdown was a perfectly thrown ball right in the heart of the Longhorn defense with only 11 seconds on the clock. IT WAS AWESOME!!!
  8. Is the football program not one of the only revenue generating programs at UNT? Why should they have to build all their facilities with "private" funds while all the money they bring in is spent on Performing Arts Centers and other projects around campus. I just think it is about time the athletics department gets a major upgrade in facilities. Isn't this the reason we play teams like OU and UT every year...for the money? Or maybe all this money is needed to pay the athletic expenses incurred each season. I really don't know the University finances all that well. It sucks to see people that don't support improving the facilities on campus whether it is new science buildings, performing arts centers, or athletic complexes. All help build a better UNT!!!
