    Coach Mac: "Is this heaven?"

    Coach Ferentz: "No...it's Iowa."

Coach Mac: "I could have sworn it was heaven."

So, am I right in assuming that the university had a structural engineer study the effects of the reverberation the cannon has on the integrity of the stadium? I know that even new concrete can and often does crack in many cases soon after its poured but I'm noticing more and more cracks in the concrete at Apogee and some are getting worse each year. Look, I'm a fan of the cannon but not if it  might be shortening the life, integrity or appearance of Apogee. I find it difficult to believe that those jolts from the firing of the cannon, some very strong, are not slowly and deliberately hurting the integrity of the stadium. Just my opinion. I am not a structural engineer.

I'm not a structural engineer either, but I would think weather conditions over a period of time would have more impact than a cannon blast. Although, I do feel it when Boomer goes off. Perhaps the workmanship was not as good as first thought, or maybe this is just normal wear and tear. How man times during the coarse of a year does Boomer get fired?

I guess it depends on from which end you're taking fan temperature.

I think conference affiliation matters to the casual fan. We are developing rivalries, but most folks want to see us playing the likes of Texas Tech, Houston and yes, SMU. Those are schools within the state that people identify with as part of the old SWC. They generate interest. I, for one, want to see a series with one, or all of these schools.

Former SMU quarterback Ramon Flanigan is back on the Hilltop as Director of External Affairs and Former Player Relations for the program.

Wherever the staff needs Flanigan's assistance, from helping cut up film to working with boosters and other spots for Chad Morris' program, SMU's all-time leader in total offense will assist with.

Flanigan plans to leverage SMU's alumni and networking to assist players during and after their playing days to get the most out of their SMU degree.

Glad to be proven wrong.  This is New Denton.

Those suck compared to ours. Sorry, Herd.

There's a combo we didn't see yesterday. Green jerseys, black pants, black helmet. Any takers?

i was really holding out hope that we might have an honorary Dickey design where we bust out the 7th grade practice jerseys again...

Think we'll wear all black during the HOF inductions? Too obvious?
