Part of our issue has to be that every year when I look at the 2 deep chart I marvel at how young we are and how we only have a couple of seniors listed.  At some point those young starters need to become experienced veterans.

This is the case every year. We never seem to become a senior laden team. Attrition takes its toll on us every year.

You hardly win football games if you lose the turnover battle. And you especially never beat teams that are better than you if you lose the turnover battle. We had two costly ones yesterday that killed potential touchdown drives.

To me, the bigger problem is our size, or lack thereof. The last three weeks, it has been glaringly obvious that we don't look like or play like a successful D1 program, especially on the defensive side of the ball. But also, both of Rogers picks yesterday we from tipped passes at the line of scrimmage. Simply put, UTSA has size up front on defense that we lack. Until we get some bigger defensive lineman up front, we will continue to struggle.

Bigger, stronger and faster all around.

Agreed. 9 games into the season. Defense is awful. What has Morris done to fix things at this point in the season? It's the same thing week after week after week after week after week after week after week after week after week...and the defense is consistently W E A K!

My humble prediction is that the coaches get a pass year one, but Morris better hit the portal HARD. JUCO too. Caponi will get one more chance to fix this mess we call defense. If it comes out again like this year, Morris won't have any choice but to fire him. Hopefully, with a big influx of defensive help, it gets turned around or Morris may be at risk too. We have squandered way too many opportunities. BTW, better pony up on our collective to make this work.

I'm glad that we can agree that the black uniforms have been an absolute marketing disaster akin to the New Coke disaster and Bud Light partnering with Dylan Mulvaney. Nobody should ever alienate their customer base like that.

Are there people that don't care? Yes, and those are the people that need to be weeded from our program. We need people that actually care about our school making the decisions that affect it.

    I could not agree more.

I didn't know Houston had done anything like this before. Don't really know why it's an issue now. It's a color scheme. I remember there being an issue when ESPN referred Michigan State as the Mean Green due to whatever green jerseys they wore but that's a different issue. I just find this whole color scheme deal a slippery slope. Where does it end? Does it eventually target our helmets and the resemblance with Oregon's helmets?

Probably not. Doesn't Nike do both our uniforms?

So you enjoy having some of your best players taken out by cheap shots?

You gonna' just say "big picture" if a nUTSAck player takes out Rogers' knee with a cheap shot?  What if a two Tulsa players blindside Rauschenberg after an extra point and take him out for the season?

What is this "big picture" related to dirty players supposed to be?  Should we start using this in our play?

    Dude. Please.

I didn't want this.  I support the military institutions and at one time would have welcomed them to be conference mates, but the recent Army games had way too many dirty players making dangerous plays.

Then football may not be your sport. If that is your main objection, you're missing the big picture.

  8. Well boys, time to step up and donate to our collective if you haven't done so already. Who can't donate $10-$25/month? Harry's made it very easy. Imagine if everyone gave according to their means, we'd have a tidy sum. Maybe not enough for some folks, but it all adds up.

  9. IMHO, defensively don't play them straight up. Stack the line of scrimmage, using primarily a four man front, and STOP THE RUN. Make them beat us by throwing the ball. Keep their O line tied up, take away the pitch man, and then punish the QB when he runs.

That's what I would do. For what it's worth.
