  1. I put this season's poor performance squarely on Coach Dodge and Coach Deloach, period. Coach Dodge recognized the best players were not played, and he did nothing. As much as he would not want to step on another coach's turf, he was still the head coach. He distanced himself from other position plays, as if it would not impact the outcome of the games; but it did. Coach Deloach came in with a great deal of expectations from all of us. He was more like a "messiah" after Coach Mendoza's debacle. What happened? He was saddled with baggage, either from inside the coaching staff, or from outside sources; Mendoza Era lived on. Coach Deloach did not play his best players. He allowed himself to be handicapped by craps from last season. The players recognized what was going on and it impacted their perfomance; their best players were on the sideline. Popularity and favoritism shown by the coaches did not win games and the season proved it. The team was not given the best option to win. The seniors who chose to play on Saturday were, perhaps, making a statement. It was not an inability on their part that their season was wasted, but poor judgement on their coaches. The seniors who chose not to play, perhaps, had nothing to prove to anyone. To the 17 seniors: Davenport, Davidson, Dawson, Fitzgerald, Glass, Henderson, Johnson, Mahan, Meager, Miller, Nurudeen, Phillips, Rose, Smith, Spencer, Stickler, and Thomas may your future be brighter than your past. May you accomplish great things in your lives. Remember your alma mater. You are always MeanGreen. Make us proud. God's Blessings.
  2. I agree with you to some extent. We have one of the best corners in the Sunbelt Conference on our squad, #31, and we hardly see him play. We are not playing our best personnels.
  3. The passionate players on the team could not contribute from the sideline. The second half defense showed there were players with fire in their bellies. They just need to be played. The defense squad for that second half should be played more. We, probably, would not be 0/7 with that squad.
  4. Wow!! someone is giving Nurudeen a bad rap. I had done some quick investigation since your publication. The following information I obtained: 1. The kid is very respectful, especially to adults. 2. He is very supportive of his team mates; example of Evan Rowan was given. Evan stayed with Nurudeen, free of charge for a month last Summer, when he was not on scholarship himself. When Evan had more playtime and Nurudeen was on the sideline, the kid remained Evan's good friend. 3. The kid is from a disciplined family, so he is disciplined. 4. He is very smart and his family expects high academic standard from him. 5. The kid is fast, strong, tackles well and very aggressive on the football field. The kid has skills. 6. He plays with passion and hates to lose. I hope Coach Dodge intervenes in what is going on. I believe it is turning to last year dejavu-Mendoza era.
  5. This is conference; we want to see him play.
  6. This publication in a local newspaper was forwarded to me by a friend in Houston. http://www.hcnonline.com/articles/2008/08/...udeen_story.txt
  7. Thank you Lord. We know you see our hearts and hear our cries. You are omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient. Please continue to guide TD with his selections. As for Ron, please provide him a position that he will flourish in, Amen.
  8. That alone could have done us more good had he coached the corners.
  9. Just have him incharge of the line and or equipment.
  10. The biting cold, the continuous rain and a holiday weekend everyone should be excused. It was a great game but the weather made it miserable. All my digits are still numb.
  11. Or just get someone that can teach the defensive players some schemes. Mendoza can help with conditioning.
  12. Our defense is in crisis. Please find us a doctor that can stop the bleeding. You do not have to fire anyone. Just get us an outside doctor that knows some defense asap. Our current DC can help in other areas.
  13. I try not to ask for the DC's resignation, but it is too difficult. He has no ability for this level.
  14. As TD is the headcoach, he is, unfortunately, bearing the brunt of the allegation. Very sad. To play a devil's advocate: what if the appearance of a racial bias have been shown by one or two of TD's assistants? From my one time encounter with TD, I personally believe he is a down-to- earth and thoughtful person. He did not seem to have any chip on his shoulder or appear biased to minorities around him. It is unfortunate the allegation went out of the university and not addressed in house. Having said that, have you thought of the current players, both black and white, not saying anything because they had observed some form of bias mixed with discipline? They would, probably, not take the route of the three players because they have better advisers. Nevertheless, they would not discredit the allegation either. Therefore, they let the university complete their investigation and perhaps institute a corrective measure. So we must all wait.
  15. It is a sad day all around, for the school, the coaches, the team and the player. I know how difficult it is to try and raise a child with iron hand. You will be misunderstood, and can be charged with child abuse. The coaches came in with the goal of establishing discipline, and could have been misunderstood. There is nothing like running a program with no discipline. It is bound to fail. Nevertheless, there must be an avenue for a parent to re-assure a child that he or she is loved: an avenue for the child to come in and apologize to the parent for misbehaving. For the sake of everyone, I hope UNT will, if it has not already, established an avenue for students, faculty and staff to express their concerns. Involving an outside group should be the last resort, after everything else has failed. We should not air our dirty laundary. We are Family!!
  16. 1. Start the games with Vizza and be ready to put in Meager if things are not going well. 2.Use three or four corners at a time. We had two corners covering four receivers in games. 3. Use our fast players to blitz opponent QBs. Our QBs go through the same thing throughout the games.. 4. Review our penalties and coach to eliminate them. Some of them are repetitive. 5.Use more running options to open up our passing schemes. 6.Coach the punt return players what to do and what can hurt the team. 7.Both the OL and the DL must have continuous conditioning throughout the season. 8. The team as a whole must continue to condition throughout the season. In Todd We Trust!!
  17. What makes you think TD does not visit this site? His assistants do. Nevertheless, the board is very entertaining and he can get easily amused by the enteries. So Peace and in Todd we trust!!!
  18. We understand quite well those of us you are referring to. We are not mad at you. Nevertheless, is it a crime to make suggestions that can help our team? Is it a crime to expect our team to excel? Is it a crime to ask our team to use all its resources? We have a capable defensive coach in house, why are we not using more of him? In Todd we trust!!
  19. Thanks for the clarification. I am one of those. Love.
  20. "and I am surprised no one has committed suicide this year" That is a scary thought. Our athletes know that God has bigger and better things for them after UNT. Regardless of what happens at UNT, they will be suucessful in life. Our athletes are students first and athletes second. Please do not scare us again with those two words. Peace!!
  21. If Coach LaCroix is as good as you have described him, can we see more of him teach the corners? Afterall, we should use all the talents we have on board, coaches and players. We all know that the atheletes have talent; they just need help playing the position. In Dodge we trust.
