100% this. People want to shit all over our 20 something year old player(s) but give hall pass after hall pass to this offensive scheming and play calling.

The play calling lost this game. Not Jordan Murray.

Ok, gotta agree with you this once.  Unless our offensive unit kept our punt unit from coming on to the field.

  2. Two things:

    1. Boise can have some pretty damn good weather at this time of year.  I've been there a couple of times, once on New Year's Eve, when it was pleasantly warm and sunny, without even comparing it to Wyoming which I'd just suffered through.  Right now, it's in the 60's and sunny.  I'd love to live there, but am not sure how much time I want to spend around my Idaho Mormon (oops, that's The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints members now) relatives.  But, yeah, unless you're LDS or into meth, I can't think of anything other than Boise State Sports and potato farming conversation for entertainment.

    2. Talking of "the Family Guy", The guy who married my daughter-in-law does the graphics for "The Family Guy".  Things being what they are, he does that from his home office in Buffalo,  New York, after a Monday Morning teleconference with Fox creative staff in Los Angeles.  And honestly, Caleb and Kimberly could complain about the weather, but I think they figure everyone in the country knows there are at least 3 months of the year you just don't want to go out (March just being mucking around in the slush and working on the damage the ice dams did to your roof).

So, yeah, every place is different.  Honestly, I only made it for the last part of that Saturday game. Denton was in this weird little island of clearing while thunderstorms persisted elsewhere, but ok, I'll try to get wet next time.  I still have fond memories of helping KingDL1 hold down the tent during a freakish short lived t-storm a few years back.

At the beginning of this game, I felt good about a 30+ point win, then I go to "let's just get a W". It would be nice to show on paper you blew out a 0-5 team, but....

I think the Chico factor is playing into this a little.

I think believing the media coverage after blowing out 4 teams having down years could have caused a problem.

  4. Ok, so did anyone else notice that the crowd noise for that "NORTH TEXAS" chant actually did take place as La Tech (for once) did not convert on third down?  I couldn't help but thinking that they "crowd sourced" chant actually helped in that.

La Tech wasn’t as good as I thought,  they will lose a game or 2.  They play FAU and W Kentucky, those are easily losses for them.  UTSA will be an issue for them as will UAB.   We handed this to them.

If it had been up to our defense, we would have won.  We got beat on offense, special teams, and coaching.

I don't see it as a negative at all.

Dykes is a run first guy and knows you gotta stop the run first.  And that's what they sold out to do...and paid dearly for it.

Mason had so many options on countless plays that he could have thrown for 800 yards if he had wanted to.

Im not panicking about the run game just yet.

Yep.  I almost wonder if Sonny and the Stangs were watching game film from last year when we couldn't pass when we weren't running well.  At least this first game, it looked like we didn't care so much whether we ran, and maybe were just doing it when we did to keep them (somewhat) honest.  Great to have such talent at wr.

Someone should let FBSchedules.com know the opening year of Apogee Stadium.

I'm glad somebody let me know I wasn't hallucinating back to the future in 2009.  I still can't stand getting actually rained on.  Speaking of rained on, as I recall, we'd have won and gone home earlier if we'd just kicked a field goal before the half against Ohio.
