Tulane moves up to number 17 in the latest poll, that's good for the conference. After we have faced all of the top teams in a row, is Tulane the best of the bunch?

From the SMU locker room...
"Alright guys, we're not paying you thousands of dollars to go out and lose to a bunch of student athletes from up the freeway! Now go out there and earn your BMW's in the 2nd half!!" 🤣
That's a loser crutch mentality, that if allowed to continue, will keep us right there with the Tulsa's of college football. NIL is hardly something that only SMU is doing, either we decide to get proactive and compete, or we will still be complaining and whining, about why other teams win... two, five or 10 years from now. Eric has done a terrific job on offense, we need a few key pieces on defense, to get us over the hump.

I think those Mustangs got a massive ass chewing at halftime, because they came out and crushed us like grapes in the second half. Before our final touchdown in garbage time, we had 39 yards offense in the second half.

This seems negative.
It usually is, we use reverse bigotry. Always refer to them as smut and snobs.

I’ll be there but alone shooting on the sidelines.
Each and every year it’s progressively harder to get people to go to the SMU games, and with it being 8:00 on a Friday night not in Denton, nobody wanted to go lol and others out of town.
We have over 42,000 students currently, is it too much to ask, for 2,000 of them to go to the game?

On YouTube you can watch their coaches presser from yesterday. Their number one deep threat receiver, tore his ACL at Rice, one of their starting offensive lineman is injured and the number one offensive lineman backup, will not play because of concussion protocol. Who knows what is going to happen with young Preston Stone, as of yesterday, he has not passed concussion protocol. Even if he does play, he has not taken any reps this week, his backup, has never started a game. They are also missing a defensive back this weekend. The field has been severely leveled, they are wounded coming into this game. If we do not at least, take this game down to the wire, I will be extremely disappointed. Besides tying SMU players hands behind their back, I don't know what else we can ask for.

UNT has 110 years of football history with a 47K in student body in 2023. Hundred thousands in alumni and we only came up with 17,354 at out home game with a instate rival on a perfect football weather day.
That's why it's embarrassing, to keep talking about attendance at SMU or any school for that matter. Schools announce tickets distributed, and there is absolutley NO WAY, we had 17,354 on Saturday.

You have to credit our administration. According to people on this board, we will have a huge crowd, but, our PR people are really pushing this game hard. I heard the students have received notices and I've gotten emails from UNT pushing this game. Obviously, we want to make a great impression. Honestly, we have no reason not to take over the stadium, we have many more alums than SMU, in Dallas proper alone. The student enrollment difference, is enormous.

SMU -16.5 ?
I can see SMU going up by 3 or 4 TD's and our offense making some catchup in garbage time.
Not a bet that I would touch.SMU had several guys injured in the Rice game, plus, would Stone be 100% even if he's cleared to play? With our offense, I wouldn't touch that bet either and factor in, SMU could be looking ahead to the showdown at Memphis next week.

What if Stone doesn't play?

I watched a lot of their game against Rice last night, very strange game. SMU doubles them up in totally yardage, but still barely wins the game. I think we have the best passing attack, they have faced, but they do have a good defense. This could be a high-scoring shootout, should be entertaining. Besides their starting quarterback, I noticed they had a number of other injuries last night. We should have a massive crowd in Ford Friday night, shouldn't be any excuses to not overrun the place.

I know when this movie came out it was all about comedy, but is it me or does it seem like more and more UNT students are starting to look like this group? I see a lot of weird looking students around Denton more so than in the past.
I've noticed that as well, but didn't want to say anything about it and just appear to have old man syndrome. Many of them, look like they would be at some hostile political protest.

I'll give some of you guys credit for nerve or serious blinders, y'all actually talking about SMU's attendance again? Their east side stands are always pretty weak, but I saw some highlights of their game last night and their press box side was pretty full. But, once again, are some of you dumb enough, with our massive enrollment and enormous alumni base, to talk about someone else's attendance?

112K for a school that has an enormous alumni base and enrollment is shocking. I tried watching some of the SMU-Temple game, but between it being such a blowout and how awful Temple is, it was unwatchable. And somehow, with going up against playoff baseball, the SMU game had over 548k viewing.

Looking really good!

I just saw the second half, 55 to 0. That SMU defense is very good.

Out of town visiting the grandkids, watching on tv, is there 4,000 people there?

This week we are facing another backup QB - when is the last time we faced a backup and stopped them?
What happened to their starter?

smuT ends up blowing them out. I don't think anyone can beat them this year. They are loaded to the gils with NIL studs.
It's weird watching SMU this season, normally they have a high-powered offense and bad defense, this season it's the opposite. Their defense is really good, but their offense is a mess.

It's not exclusive to us, it is very tough to win at Navy. Also, that is the smallest home crowd, I can remember seeing at a Navy home game.

TCU was smart to invest money when they did.

TCU crushed Houston 36-13 and SMU rolled Prairie View 69-0.
