Serious question, with Cincy, UCF, Houston leaving and programs like Rice, FAU and Charlotte coming in, is it really much of a jump?

Terrible view? It is the same basic seating pattern as the alumni side. Is the sun brutal? Yes, but don't make shit up to try to hammer your point home.
I have sat in those visitor seats before, not sure if you have. They start at the goal line and go past the back of the end zone. I would consider that a terrible view. Why so angry?

Objectively not a sick burn. For most people that live in Dallas a trip up to Denton to play a team that we've historically dominated isn't going to move the needle. Facts.
As an older fan, it is a must for me to sit on the shade side when UNT and SMU play, no matter if it's Denton or Dallas...it's a matter of survival. UNT's student section is so large, that they absorb the lower bowl from end to end. If I was a visiting fan, no chance would I sit in those seats UNT provides for SMU and other visitors. Terrible view and hotter than hades looking into the sun. This summer is hotter than normal, I doubt many SMU fans will risk heat stroke with a terrible view, especially when the game is televised.

When does camp open?

I've been to tailgates across the country, including Wisconsin and Ole Miss, SMU's Boulevard is very impressive. If they ever figure out, how to get a high percentage of those people into the stadium, they would really be onto something.

"What really strikes fear in Saban's heart is what will happen to his program if the sleeping giant in the University Park suburb of Dallas wakes up. If Saban is tossing his cookies at the thought of the damage boosters at Texas A&M and Texas have done, wait until those boosters' bosses who support SMU start throwing money around."

When it comes to paying players, SMU has a lot of experience.
With the exception of Rice, so did every other SWC team and most programs across the country for that matter. You think the Trans A$M was random?

Looking at the Texas Football site, SMU lost a bunch of starters from last years team. First time new head coach, totally new staff, many new players, on the road for their opener, it should be a very competitive game.

Seems that most consider SMU to be the #1 rival. With the Mustangs as the home opener, will it be a sellout or just a full house?

Will this be televised?

Funny that smut fans can’t seem to stay off our board when they don’t consider us a rival. There are many more of their fans than fans from any other school.
I'm on a TCU board pretty often, tons of Pony fans visit and engage on that site. It seems like, it's the same handful of SMU posters that come on this site. Always good, when opponents fans stop in to liven things up, I'm sure the Moderators enjoy the extra traffic.

I like how UNT fans have this weird, rabid unhealthy, one-sided obsession with SMU. Give it up, UNT has no in-state rival or any rival for that matter. Even UTSA's in-state rival is Texas State.
SMU's rival always has been and always will be TCU.
UH on the other hand, only thinks about SMU when there's a game against them that week.
Probably a lot of truth to that.

I can say with 100% sincerity that I absolutely wish the literal worst on your university and alumni.
SMU represents everything wrong with this country.
Is that you AOC?

Y'all pump out a billion grads a year. Most don't make much money, yes, but you must have a couple very successful alumni. That alone could fund some NIL.
Stone Cold & Phil McGraw could each easily find your whole program if all the articles on NIL spending levels are correct.
I saw a link on TCU's board for their NIL program, you can donate as little as 25 dollars a month. UNT's enrollment and alumni base, dwarfs TCU and SMU's combined. UNT could easily compete with them, if they stopped complaining and got busy.

The most famous of all seems alive and well.
Blount was one of the youngest, do a search on the dozen that were banned, they were old back then.

And not to mention that SMU has had years of practicing and experience and paying players
You're probably kidding, because most of the boosters involved with SMU in the early 80's, are probably deceased or in the rest home.

Looking at the 247 Transfer rankings, TCU is currently #9, SMU #13 and UNT #78 in the Nation. Very impressive for the 2 small private schools. Looks like SMU had a haul of 4 Star players from UT and Miss State over the weekend. TCU and SMU's NIL programs, have to be emulated by the Mean Green. What SMU has done as a non P5, is shocking, especially for a first time head coach and new staff. Sonny Dykes already has the formula at frogland. UNT better get their NIL program rolling.

SMU DE Jayden Jones is heading to the transfer portal. Jones redshirted last year as a freshman out of Parish Episcopal. Took official visit to TCU over the weekend after Frogs offered, but has now taken his name out of portal and staying with the Mustangs. Some of my TCU buddies are pretty upset by this. When he entered the portal, did UNT offer him?

Aren't you underachieving with your screen name?
Love the Dodge family, great people. They are the reason, I started pulling for UNT, just didn't change the screen name.

SMU -ACC?
in Mean Green Football
Posted
Adding TV sets to the ACC’s footprint is a clear path to opening the possibility of “renegotiating” the current TV revenue deal with ESPN. There simply aren’t many schools that bring to the table what the ACC needs, including academic standing, market size, geographic fit.
Southern Methodist University located in Dallas is perhaps the only fit. SMU is in Dallas, the nation’s fifth-largest TV market with nearly 3 million TV sets. That will get the folks in Bristol’s attention. And Dallas is in Texas, perhaps the most hallowed of all ground for football, from little league to the NFL. And SMU is a solid academic university, ranking #68 in the US News best national colleges and universities rankings.
