  1. I feel like having events at these games would be great… if we got all the RA’s/housing staff to organize inviting freshman on campus to just 1 game and packing the pit for even just one game, that could bleed well into other games during the season. There’s no one trying to build a culture here on campus. It’s really down on the administration for building it.

Unfortunately, to many this makes me some sort of evil even though this virus has a 99% recovery rate.

99% recovery rate means 3 million Americans would die if we all got Covid. Easy solution to bring that number down… glad you were okay. Hope you don’t feel too bad for the people who have died a preventable death.

The “Get Rid of Seth” ship has sailed.  I was on board, but got on a lifeboat after Saturday.  I’m not happy with 6 wins nor am I happy with how we got steamrolled by UAB and Marshall.  However, I am happy with the turnaround I’ve seen when it would have been very easy to quit.  We have played disciplined football with very few boneheaded mistakes.  We are not expecting our QB to win games and more importantly, we really aren’t allowing him to lose games.  And that defense:  Young, fast, and aggressive. A team that was an absolute beating to watch early in the season has become very fun to watch.  They are playing with a lot of emotion, but it’s a controlled excitement, unlike early in the year.

Plus, I think it’s too late to get rid of him now and I don’t think it would be good to be a part of all these falling dominoes.  I can’t recall a crazier end of season coaching carousel.

Agreed, although I wouldn’t mind it if UNT was putting some feelers out and checking out some of the big names that are apart of the carousel.

  4. Seems like everyone on the staff is really fired up and has amazing chemistry. Bennett talking about zero animosity and everyone gets along really well. We have a ton of momentum, a young team that turned itself around, a strong coaching staff that is heading in the right direction (and has evidence of it working itself out so far)... I'd be ecstatic to have no coaching changes this year and just hit the Transfer portal hard. This interview got me fired up.

Hopefully, the move to AAC will help recruiting, too.

Coach Dowling has an Instagram story video of him talking to a coach while recruiting, telling him that we’re not apart of C-USA and won’t take ‘bench players’ or something anymore. Seemed like coaches are really taking advantage of the move while recruiting. I’ll try to find out how to share that video here too.

This comes down to one thing...we lack size.  Once they started driving the lane, they finished at the rim at will.  Also, once they extended their defense, we couldn't drive and finish because smaller players have a harder time finishing at the rim

Lotsa C-USA teams that seem to be playing inside a lot… hope we can figure that out before conference play.

See I would say shutdown the UTSA run game, but then I realized that we are outmatched in the secondary against the big UTSA WRs.

Yeah this is the problem… we shut down the run game and their receivers blow past our secondary. UTSA is balanced on offense, that’s why their good and hard to stop. Zero problem moving the ball down the field and making plays when they need to. Our secondary would need to be locked down on them, which I feel like we’ve really only seen recently against bad teams who can’t field an offense. If we blow one or two defensive plays in the secondary, we put ourselves in a deep hole to dig ourselves out of. I’d wager our offense is what really needs to step up, especially against a potent defense like UTSA’s.

Were they referring to the athletic department or football program specifically? I’d bet on the former.

Seriously? That's the hill your going to die on? Of course they were talking about the athletic department, but that very much so includes football. Pretty sure it ranks football success as number one or two.

And Littrell’s competitors didn’t have improved facilities over their predecessors? Get real man, we don’t operate in a vacuum.

Pending the Traylor contract, we have the highest paid staff, newest facilities, and have been investing the most in our program, with some of the biggest C-USA plans. Second or third largest budget, biggest growing city, most fertile recruiting grounds....
