  1. If Mac does end up leaving, I don't understand why people are so dismissive of Hodge being elevated to HC. Since the beginning, there have been rumors swirling that Hodge truly is the secret to Mac's success and Mac has even alluded to that a few times in interviews. Keep the train rolling that has given us the most success we've ever had

  2. I'm extremely torn on all of this. We were the highest NET rated team to get passed up for the tournament, but we really didn't do ourselves any favors losing to Rice and Charlotte. Overall, I think it's just garbage. The committee picks their favorites regardless of NET, quality wins, etc. Look no further than the garbage explanation given on why UH was chosen as the 1 overall seed even though KU had the most quad 1 wins in the country by over double the next closest school. They'll always find some garbage way to justify bringing in bad P5 schools while leaving good G5 schools out.

I get it. But we aren't recruiting well enough to change anything that we're doing.

Also, per our record, this was our best basketball team in school history. If offered, I would sign on a dotted line for 26 wins a season for the rest of my life right now.

Yeah, I like this perspective and it is true. Just frustrating when something you knew was your Achilles heel all season ends up doing you in when it matters most

Our defense is good because of our pace of play on offense. Think flex football. Army/Navy don't have the steel curtain on defense. They just hog the ball on offense. The other team can't score if they don't have the ball.

So, if GM ups our tempo on O, he's openly willingly to give up more points. I'm not sure we should do that. Fast paced offense are for teams that have fantastic and athletic guard play. As much as I love TP, he's a shooting guard in a PG's body.

I think our style, per our recruiting,  has to stay the same.

Yes, I get all of that but our style of play is dependent on being precise with every offensive possession we get and leaves little room for error and how often did our offensive droughts leave us in big holes to dig out of game after game this season? Teams finally wised up on how to guard us and we had little to no response

    Knee jerk emotional reaction.

The main thing opposing fans say is his biggest negative is lack of offense and what about today showed that it is no longer an issue for him?

  6. So much yelling at clouds in this thread. Morris is a Leach disciple and it’s his way of honoring Leach. He has seen how this helped teams in the past and wants that for his team. The players and coaches really seem to enjoy it so who cares if he has no affiliation to NT, as long as it works

I think that most will adapt.  Some positions will be more uncomfortable than others, especially on defense.  But many have made adjustments throughout their playing years.  I was a little worried at first because I was afraid that the new coaching crew lacked experience but I no longer believe that's a concern.  The coaches have more experience as a player and/or coach than I originally thought.  The vast majority will be fine.

Happy to see this. Curious what makes you say this and what changed your mind

I think you're right about May leaving. Would still be good to show the world the new AAC can make a run even without Houston. It's about showing the conference has quality programs.

Totally agree. This just seems to be FAU's M.O. Get a flash in the pan hire that takes their program to ridiculous heights, then once that coach gets hired away, they fall back down to normalcy or worse. Especially for a program that only had 3 winning seasons in 15 seasons prior to May getting there. Hope that is not the case for the good of our conference but we'll see

Who cares. If FAU goes on a run and develops into the new UH (huge stretch), we'll benefit as long as we keep challenging them in conference play. Can't keep being content with 1 bid conferences. I doubt Big 10 members are mad they get 9 bids seemingly every year.

I doubt this. Once Ole Miss (or others) poaches Dusty May, they will come back down to Earth. Much like their football team did after Lane Kiffin.
