There are zero consequences to eligibility, right? We need to use the rest of this season to get game experience for everyone. Including our stable of QBs.

Agreed Matt. I don't know why we haven't figured this out by now at this point in the season. I will just never understand. Play those who can contribute and make plays ... otherwise pull them. This may prove to them that there can be consequences - with someone else playing instead of them. Just sounds like being disciplined to me ... Sounds like sports to me.

A school 30 miles down the road kicked his pathetic team's a$$ for the past 2 years largely due to this.

If he needs to read an article to know this, then we've got bigger problems.

He especially shouldn't need to read an article to know this ... considering that Seth and Sonny are close friends too.

The cordial way to express disapproval is a well thought out and responsible email. We all know that email will get deleted and/or unread. They can't delete or not read bolded poster board.

I understand that and agree about the email getting deleted or just not responding to it. Seems silly to do with a poster at this point, but to each his own!

If I'm the AD or Neil S and I see a shit show being thrown out there...I'm asking questions..maybe they have and are happy with Seth's reply.

I asked, actually wife emailed, about the National Anthem and moment of silence BS and basically told not to worry about it...

I'm confused. What did you specifically ask/email about in regards to the moment of silence and National Anthem?

I hate that it may be coming to this, but Littrell has made more in 4 years than most people make in their lifetime. And, he certainly hasn't earned his $1.865 million this year, or last year either.

Language evolves. Across cultures, over time, from one mouth to another ear.

So, while a lexicon may be perfectly valid for a given time and a given culture, that may or may not hold any weight or accurately convey the intended meaning for another day and another group.

To seek definition in any permanent sense is like trying to stack grains of sand. You can never truly succeed, and any progress you make is fleeting and unsteady, to say the least.

That said... You asked for an admin's perspective. So, here's how *I* use these reactions.

RV is easy. Whatever he was to you (the royal "You", not you specifically as the original poster quoted here), I can't know or comprehend. RV is many things to many people, and the spectrum runs wide.

But wherever you categorize him... Hero or villain, champion or failure, leader or disappointment... It is undeniable that the man was sexy as hell. This is thoroughly documented, and it is not in dispute.

So, when *I* use the RV reaction, it means that something in that post was attractive, arousing, appealing, shockingly erotic... Call it what you want. When a post makes the blood pump, likely as it circulates to the intimate extremities? The only proper reaction is an RV.

Ray is more complicated. What is Ray? Is he a tragedy? A comedy? A cautionary tale? One of a litany of torments suffered by Nathan Tune as he faced a Job-like mountain of afflictions?

When I think of Ray, I think of a suffering beast that managed to break free and find hope on his own terms. And that freedom from misery, however fleeting, gives me the sort of hope I seldom get to enjoy as a North Texas graduate and fan.

Like Butch and Sundance, guns blazing as they charge towards the Bolivian army... Like Thelma and Louise, hand-in-hand as they drive to the only freedom a hard world could offer them... Ray refused to surrender, Ray jumped that fence and ran into his own sunset. What came next? I have no idea. It's been more than 10 years, and that dog looked old and hungry even before he made his grand escape. In a way... It doesn't matter. Because Ray lives forever in a freeze frame of triumph. He's forever free of that chain, forever beyond that fence. He's living his own life, on his own terms, come what may.

And that's what Ray means to me. He's a hero to the hopeless. He's a success story for the downtrodden. Ray is an INSPIRATION. So when a post inspires me? I give it a Ray.

Skeptical Eagle is dumb. I don't like that one. Don't use Skeptical Eagle for anything. Down arrow it or roll eyes at it.

    I hope this helps.

This explanation by far exceeded my expectations for a description of the reactions. Thanks for your wonderfully entertaining response! 😁

  7. Wasn't able to attend the game today, but I didn't know the interim USM coach, Scotty, "begged" for a job at North Texas 4 years ago from what the TV announcers just said. Interesting. Bet he will be pretty happy with a W tonight ...

Additional: He is the type of 'hype' that our team needs. We. Look. Dead. We take momentum from great plays and shoot ourselves in the foot. But overall, we look like we have absolutely no discipline and seem to be lacking crucial leadership.

Additional x2: I have absolutely loved Torrey and JD from the beginning. I have regularly heard their names since the beginning. They have continued to be fun to watch. I get sad thinking they are finally seniors, but I cannot imagine how frustrated they feel this season so far. I hope they get the chance to be a part of turning their season around.

I'm not sure what is going on this year, but at some point we have got to figure out how to adjust. All around.

  8. Agreed - While I DO love Scheels, their in-person selection is pretty piss poor the 4-5 times I've been.  Their online selection basically feeds in from the Fanatics website, so if you go to Fanatics.com and search for NT gear there, you'll see the same stuff as on the Scheels site.  NT gear in person at Scheels maybe has 4 racks of actual apparel and I wouldn't even consider them full-size racks.  A few accessories to go along with it, but overall, nothing special.  Much better selection at pretty much any store in Denton that sells MG gear.  Rally House in Plano is the only other store in the north Texas area (that's not in Denton) with a somewhat decent MG selection at their store.  The RH Frisco nor the RG Galleria locations aren't great either.  When I'm trying to find some women's apparel, I usually just plan to make a trip up to the bookstore or wait to get into the main store at Apogee.  They also seem to have the most men's selection in general too in my opinion.

  9. We bought individual tickets prior to each game last year (not at the gate, but online on the tournament website beforehand at some point) and never had an issue. I honestly can't remember if they had individual game tickets available through the MG Sports website last year or not (they very well could have) because obviously we would rather buy via that route. I only remember looking early on and seeing the whole tournament package ticket prices - we didn't want to get those just due to not knowing our schedules and which games we'd be able to make.

@MrAlien Parking has never really been an issue, but I am familiar with the area and know where to go.  The big lot across the street from the garage (west side of garage) typically has plenty of spots available.  If not, you can always valet with one of the restaurants by the garage and just have to walk across the street to the entrance to the Star.  It has never been an issue for us.

Fingers crossed they have fixed the scoreboards being so low and obstructed (didn't seem to notice it as much last year vs. the year before), but hoping to see a good crowd at our games like we had last year!

The 2010 team was during my tenure (2011 graduate) and I absolutely loved watching this crew play. Have to agree with @emmitt01 that Tristan was probably my favorite to watch. I also met Cameron through a mutual friend and he was a super nice guy the few times I hung out with him. Josh White, of course, was another favorite. Odu would dominate the interior. Our current team reminds me a lot of the 2010 team - they're both just fun to watch. I think the 2010 team definitely had more height to them, but this team is spunky and moves the ball around really well. I'd give '19-'20 team the win, but not by much.

I've had 3 ACL surgeries. 9 months is the time of the physical rehab. That's not counting the subsequent months of getting back into game shape or even getting back into the mental aspect of playing which could take over a year if not more. I am honestly shocked he did not have the surgery immediately after it happened if he had aspirations of coming back to the team next year or even trying to make it to the NFL. That tells me a lot.

I’ve had 1 and the rehab was brutal, definitely closer to 9 months, but I feel like I was moving slower than normal as far as rehab was concerned. Mine was a full tear. One of my brothers had a fine recovery and my other had a slower recovery like mine, but still at least 7.5-9 months after all is said and done. I agree and am shocked he did not have surgery immediately. I would’ve wanted to knock that crap out and would rather be on crutches the last 2 months of my season than just delay it even longer.

He's telling himself and others that he didn't tear it. He is convinced lol

Didn’t you also say you know someone who knows who’s doctor and he definitely tore it? Maybe it was someone else who said this ...

There are many cases where surgery is not needed for a partial tear.  It all has to do with knee stability.  I am 100% sure he has been working with an orthopedic doctor who is giving him advice based on his injury.

I had a partial tear of my ACL with no stability issues.  Recovered in 4 months then had another 3 months of heavy PT.  Played 2 more years on the offensive line without braces, jumped out of airplanes for 4 years, and then played 3 years of Rugby at UNT with no issues.

At 49 it does sound like popcorn when I walk...

I read your post and my takeaway is ... still 4 months + 3 months = 7 months. 7 months post-December is July. Football starts well before then. Mine felt fine after my rehab as well and I’d like to think he’s getting advice from his doctor but just think his appearance at games (i.e. being in the stands during games) was initially shocking to me and made me question his recovery. Again, just a fan and spectator’s perspective over here.

So kinda like the Bussey injury that was no contact from another player?

Pretty much.  From the TV, it looked like he was hurt when he planted and his leg was twisting (before he was hit).  I wouldn't be surprised if it were an ACL injury, as it didn't look good.  Hoping it's just dislocated/nothing more serious than that.  I thought I saw his leg in an aircast as he was taken off on the cart, but maybe it was just wrapped up.

Also, when I tore my ACL (in college), I was taken to the ER, but it didn't do a thing for me.  They were able to rule out a broken bone, but I knew that going there since I heard something pop.  I went back to my dorm and called our orthopedic surgeon the next morning who got me in that day and could actually do an MRI on me.  You'll get more answers there than you will at an ER - X-Rays won't show soft tissue like ACL's, so it's best to wait and get an MRI done.
