  1. The late start time does hurt for me. Instead of catching a Saturday/Sunday (I'm six hours ahead) night game, my only option is to try and watch the game at 2:30am in the UK Friday morning (which now I am considering taking off work for). Despite the minor inconvenience, I welcome the challenge of hosting FAU at home on a Thursday. I expect attendance to be low given our sheepish student body but a strong showing in a national televised game, against a possibly ranked opponent can only benefit the football program. Wren and Co. will do their best to pack Apogee. Perhaps they will incentivize our student body similar to the way they did last year vs. UTSA.
  2. I've got three boys: 12, 9, and 8. Hopefully future UNT athletes!
  3. @UNTFan23 I'm using other schools in our conference as a measuring stick, for example Marshall, UAB, Charlotte, UTSA, and FAU just to name a few. Based on what I saw online, we have one of the smallest athletic staffs across the board in all of CUSA. UAB: https://www.uabsports.com/staff.aspx Marshall: http://www.herdzone.com/staffdir/mars-staffdir.html Charlotte: https://www.charlotte49ers.com/staff.aspx UTSA: http://goutsa.com/staff.aspx FAU: http://www.fausports.com/school-bio/fau-school-bio-directory.html
  4. Thank you @UNTLifer I did a repost of this same topic in the football board. I will be sure to check out Sharkarosa, seems like a great place for the family!
  5. This is a repost from another board in this forum to garner more responses. Why is our athletic staff so small compared to other CUSA schools? We only have two compliance employees, a relatively small marketing team, only one graphics guy on board and only three people working in the ticket office. Is this something we can expect to change in the near future? I read a post on this forum referencing the $26 million debt our athletic department has but perhaps this is one of those times where you have to spend money to make money. Also, I made arrangements to be in Denton for SMU weekend (some have speculated that game could be the first sellout in Apogee history) and would appreciate some recommendations for good restaurants and some fun activities to do with the wife and kids while we are in town. I'm trying to avoid the cliche places like Rudy's and etc.

  7. Can we stop Ferrari? He's already hit 4 3pt shots this half!
  8. Why do they keep showing shots of downtown Dallas in between breaks? Some shots of Denton or anything else would be nice......
  9. Does anybody know if we get any additional benefit from winning tonight other than the CBI trophy and good publicity?
  10. Need to take better care of the ball and we have been sloppy on the boards. Gotta keep attacking the basket on offense, no reason to be nervous, basketball is a game of runs. GM will right the ship.
  11. Proud of this team and so glad that wanker Benford is gone. Zero character issues on this team compared to 2012-2017 teams. No matter the result tonight, a great first season under GM!
  12. I believe that SL is staying until Fine graduates. HSO here but I'm not excited about that deutsche bag from Tech being our "coach in waiting". If GH were the real deal, he would have already been hired by a major program.
  13. Sorry about that chaps!
  14. Hello mates, Mean Green fan and graduate of '79 reaching out to you from across the pond. Does any one think that UNT to the Big 12 is even a remote possibility within the next decade? Granted, the conference might not exist by then but I've heard that a potential membership would require our athletic department to net over $25 million annually to even be considered. Surely with the development efforts we've seen in the last two years (both on the court/field/etc. and in the business side), it is not THAT crazy to believe we can be competing in a power five conference. Why not UNT and UH? Adding two state schools with more than 38,000 students and a demonstrable upward trajectory in multiple sports seems like a win-win in a few years. Not to mention, adding UH to the Big 12 could possibly hurt TAMUS recruiting which I am sure more than a few current Big 12 member schools would like.
