  1. Have you read any of the articles or comments on scheduling? The coaches didn't like the game. Didn't feel it helped recruiting, felt playing the triple option in the middle of a season was detrimental to the team and felt like the style of play led to injuries (see yesterday for example). So the admin shopped the series around. But guess what, the years that are closest no schools had the dates open you can look at master schedules on the internet before you run your mouth. Oh but there's a new FBS team, Liberty who the dates open. Literally, the only team out there with the dates open. So Liberty took them but wanted a home and home in exchange. There were no other options to get out of the Army games. If your argument is the admin should have kept the games, fine. But acting like our admin didn't know what they are doing is dumb. They took the only option available to get out of those early Army games and moved on it before Liberty could fill the dates with others The schedule flexibility allowed the pickup of Houston with other movement still ongoing according to Vito article this summer. Why you continue to act like this was a trade of Army for Liberty straight up with other options on the table is ridiculous. But I guess it has to fit your MO of being negative on anything to do with UNT or the athletic program. That's what's dumb.
  2. Instead of continuing to dwell on the past in regards to the basketball program and the current state of the program, I'm going to start thinking about the future. I'm sure much speculation will come with who WB will hire. He has a background in basketball and I seem to remember some comments about him being a great hire from the basketball world when he was hired. Not saying any of these coaches would be candidates but below are basketball hires made by WB. Some hires came from outside at times while promoting from within twice as well. Has hired assistants and sitting head coaches. These were hires made with WB as AD. I'm not sure but I don't think Missouri or Memphis hired MBB or WBB coaches during his on the staff there. Wren Baker (Rogers State) 20-11 – stepped down to be full-time AD, now AD at UNT Lloyd Williams (Rogers State MBB) 52-13 – now husband to Amy Williams who is Head WBB Coach at Nebraska - was assistant coach for WB, played and coached at UTSA http://www.goyotes.com/coaches.aspx?rc=305 Amy Williams (Rogers State WBB) 97-65 – left to be WBB HC at South Dakota, now WBB HC at Nebraska - was assistant coach at Tulsa, OSU http://www.huskers.com/ViewArticle.dbml?ATCLID=210881343 Justin Barkley (Rogers State MBB) – 142-62 – Currently still MBB HC at Rogers State, was assistant coach at RSU http://rsuhillcats.com/coaches.aspx?rc=179&path=mbball Mark Kellogg (NW Missouri WBB) – 15-13 – Currently WBB HC at SFA – SFA website says 15 wins was 9 win improvement during his lone year. Went on to WTAMU before going to SFA, was sitting HC at For Lewis College http://www.sfajacks.com/sports/w-baskbl/mtt/mark_kellogg_967521.html Total record 326-164
