Has offers from UTSA, New Mexico, Incarnate Word and has visited TX State, but does not look like we have offered or anything.. His dad I'm assuming played for Tennessee because he has pics with his dad and photos of a guy in a Tennessee uni/photo with the same name.  Super physical kid, and plays the slot.. looks solid coming off the blitz and can play RB as well. Manord is following him..

Also scored a 101.58 on the Nike Football Rating and measures in at 5'9 175..

  2. I'm not sure about the success rate of most true freshman OL in C-USA, but if these kids aren't going to play I would love to have them redshirted and spend a year just in the gym.. But if they are the best players, play them.  But Donovan has talked about how he was being brought in to play either G or C, so only reason why we all think it will be Spoon at T, Don at G and Newman at C...

I would much rather keep the #3 center in Texas at center, but maybe that's just me

not bad having the #3 and #15 on that list... But Donovan i think is also a top guard also, but this staff will play the 5 best which I think we all can agree on and are excited to see

He was trying to show you that this has already been pinned to the top. But I will pin something with the staff contact info, or put it in another pinned thread.

All good, I think people may overlook it just because of the title with people thinking the Forum Guidelines just regarding rules for the site and bypass it, without knowing it talks about the exact ways to pass along someone to the staff.

Very Nice Interior line prospect!! I will have more once the kid announces. This kid is very under the radar. But nice addition along side Donovan and Witherspoon

when will the announcement be made?

also, do we have an ideal spot for Don and Spoon? I'm assuming Don at C, and Spoon at one of the T spots?

  6. Looks like we landed another OLine prospect.. I haven't found who yet

Not 100% sure but guessing possibly Dakoda Newman of Mansfield Timberview.. Following/Followed by different members of the staff. but nothing on twitter saying he has commited. so i could be totally wrong.

  7. To inject another idea.. what if C-USA and the Sunbelt made it so that their conference champs played head to head in head to head game?

C-USA and Sunbelt would have their own conference playoffs for their champ, then once that was played out we played the 2 conference champs head to head? could be an interesting idea...

  8. This may help Goree get into the flow of the game and could help us moving around guys as well... Also about Goree and the WRs, i have noticed they have seem to still be thin but also they have to adjust to the routes and that in this system, not sure how different it is for them but we are moving from a run scheme to a spread scheme.. Also, I wonder how many of the routes we are are designed or if it something based on what the defense is doing in terms of coverage.

  9. Do we move around Goree? As in does he play Slot and outside and even flip sides? If we don't may wanna try it and have him get lined up against LBs and S. Another would be to bring him in motion so he isn't dealing with press nonstop.

  10. I believe I'm one of the ones that started the who "Diva" title for Augie.. What was meant by this is how he bounced around school to school, I believe he went to 3 or 4 different high schools.. To me that means either, he isn't a good team player or they were trying to get him onto a team for him explode recuiting-wise. While some of this bouncing around could be out of his control, that is understandable. But other things like him talking with Vito in the past saying everything was great with UNT and then all of a sudden he picks going to Prep School over UNT, then picks a Prep School and never shows up.. But then he realizes and signs up for Online classes at UNT.

Again I hope that this kid works out and puts UNT on the map, but I think it is very doubtful that he lost us as an offer at anytime between SL getting here and the start of this camp. Because we still brought in players after signing day and brought in a 2nd QB in O'hara.

As a wise poster here has stated before, "We love to eat our own."

Kid's not even here yet and we've already labeled him a failure. That sucks.

Failures of a shitty past coaching staff should not cloud our judgement of a recruit by this one.

Said this many times, I'm no expert, but quit trashing this kid. Sign up Augie. Go Mean Green.

I haven't see anything that should be labeled as trashing. The points that we have been bringing up, are traits that we are all worried about or dislike, but we all have said if SL is high on this kid which apparently he is since this kid has been a target for years now and 3 different school go get him and bring him in.

  12. The real questions is about money... If we did this and SMU was a home game one of those years we only have 5 home games, that means UNT actually only has 4 at Apogee.

What would be the cost of UNT/SMU at the Cotton Bowl? But it would be great, but instead of Cotton Bowl, we have a partnership with the Cowboys, maybe we could do something at Jerry World and get Alumi from all over to come see Jerry world...Doing something like that would/could be huge for UNT. Bringing in recruits as well.

Recruiting is about talent acquisition.  If divas are not allowed, then there are loads of highly rated players that would go unrecruited each year.  This staff has shown they are not scared of running off players that don't fit.  If the kid has talent, bring him in and give him a shot.  It is up to the player to take advantage of the opportunity.

Sometimes a little time away from home and a little maturity will do wonders.

Have faith in Seth and Company. If he ends up here they see something.

I agree with SL and them bringing him on if they think he can be something, I just have a feeling this kid won't amount to anything because he seems to have always tried going to a play that has great players and ride off of them instead of him being the main focus, if that makes sense.  But I could see him being someone who comes in and could play 1 year light it up then he goes off to another school as well..But if he is going to be here in Jan. why didn't he sign back in March, it doesn't make sense to come here now after not playing for 1 year when he could have been in the system and competed.

But I hope I'm completely wrong about this kid, but if i had to pick I would rather roll with Fine or Pearson any day over Augie... Also, I would rather bring in 1 freshman QB per class and not 2, but I would be completely okay with us sign Pearson and Isadora because of the different classes and experience.
