  1. Here's a couple who have been reached out to:

"Heavy talks" with Jahni Summers, local product, but multiple D-I offers to compete with. Obviously, same CC as Tylor Perry.

26.5 PPG at any collegiate level is an eye opener. Hometown is Muskogee, OK, not a far drive from home...

Supposedly Pac-2 wants Air Force, Boise State, Colorado State, Fresno State, UNLV, SDSU and some mix of Memphis, UNT, UTSA, Rice, Tulane.

As long as we can get a media rights deal that is not streaming-only, this is what I'd like. The American has got some work to do to not be in the same situation that Pac is in in a few years when its media deal is up and this time is negotiating without Houston, UCF, and Cincy.

While some fans may not like it, we also need to continue building our rivalry with UTSA. They have the stronger FB program right now so we need to make our two schools a package deal for any conference that pursues us if the American implodes.

  3. I promise this'll be my last softball-in-football-forum spamming, I thought it was worth it since we're about to enter the most boring time of the sports year.

There are three more chances to root for your Mean Green before football season. Those come this weekend in a crucial softball series with Wichita State, who won the AAC last year. Whether you buy tickets and sit in the stands, or cheer on from the outfield for free, get to Denton and support the ladies!

Here's how the AAC is shaping up this year. The top two seeds get a double bye in the conference tournament and only have to win two games May 10-11 in Wichita to get to the NCAA Tournament.

  4. Yeah, the Texas A&M game sucked, but to go from a 12-0 run rule loss a few weeks ago to a win would have been quite the turnaround. We definitely took care of business in the five games we should have taken care of business in, outscoring TAMU Commerce and Memphis 51-4 in five games.

Memphis had 7 hits and 8 errors this weekend.

  5. Up 4-0 already in the second of the finale against Memphis.

Charlotte has already swept Tulsa this weekend, meaning if win today we'll have the same conference record as Charlotte and I don't know what the next tiebreaker is if we haven't played each other yet.

However, UTSA and FAU are tied at 1 apiece right now. If UTSA somehow pulls the upset today, there would be a three-way tie for first. Between the three teams, UNT would be 2-1 against the field, FAU 3-3, and Charlotte 1-2.

The last series in Charlotte two weeks from now will be HUGE.

I didn't get this feeling from watching on ESPN+.  Did it feel that way for you all that were there in person?  Are we in awe, or are we just trying too hard and get off our game?

To me it didn't look like our batters were intimidated. We finished with like 4 or 5 hits in 5 innings, better than getting no-hit like we did to Kentucky and Mizzou last season. But we let a bad call at second that would have been the third out snowball into six more runs to put the game out of reach early. A&M misplayed a couple of grounders that allowed more of our runners to get on but obviously kept us from scoring until the last inning.

That's the attitude of someone resigned to defeat.  UNT is in a better location and I'm certain has deeper pockets than UTSA.  You don't see UTSA using excuses of why they can't be successful despite some pretty clear limitations.  Allowing the past to determine your future is silly to me.  Find the right mix of people who capitalize on the strengths and mitigate the weaknesses.  UTSA did it.  Don't tell me UNT can't.
