  1. Love watching you dweebs froth at the mouth every time we do something better than you (which, lets face it, is often as hell). It must suck to be leapfrogged so quickly by a new program. Have fun in our shadow.
  2. Good game, yall. My dad and I were planning on making the trip up there this morning to see the game, but it turns out he had to work. Pretty bummed. I know there has been a ton of bitter words between our fan bases over the Internet the last few weeks, but let's all remember that posters on forums like GMG and Rowdytalk make up about 3% (maybe even less) of our collective fan bases. Next year at the Alamodome, swing by my tailgate spot in Lot C. Got some cold beers for yall. Best of luck next week at Tulsa and at whichever bowl yall play in. Best Wishes, JM
  3. We don't truly believe we will be on UT's level in 5 years. Just because someone might have posted that in one of the forums doesnt mean its a collectively shared opinion. I cringe when I see posts like that because I know opposing fans will use it as ammo like yall just did
  4. UNT90, what was UTSA supposed to do? Say "No thank you, we cannot join C-USA because UNT will get really really upset and start a 34 page thread about it"? Screw that. We would have been foolish to not accept this invite. You guys are confusing UTSA being "arrogant" with simply not kissing UNT's ass.
  5. Let me start out by saying this. Most of yall are level headed and see both sides of the argument. I see both as well. Furthermore, we are in C-USA whether you like it or not. This is not the Big 12, SEC, or Big 10. It is a MID-MAJOR conference that lost, or will be losing key members and needed to find programs that showed promise for the future. Please excuse UTSA from breathing the same air and being in the same MID-MAJOR conference as the almighty, untouchable UNT. UTSA did not ask for, nor does it need UNT's permission to do anything. We do not view our program as being "better" or "above" anyone else, UNT included. in We know we are INCREDIBLY fortunate for everything that has happened in these short 4 yrs. Some of yall are simply afraid that UTSA will leapfrog you in the coming years and leave you behind. Deny it all you want.
  6. I have been to two away games so far...the first was our first WAC game against New Mexico State and the second was our first C-USA game against Rice. Neither were intimidating, or loud. I expect Apogee to have a different feel to it.
  7. Very good post. Touched on both sides of the issue. Props. Oh...and crispy
  8. Because of fans like UNT90, I want to like you all, but folks like you just make me want to hammer you all in to submission. I hope the latter occurs November 23rd.
  9. Being older does not make one team better than the other. I'll reference an earlier post about schools like Idaho and New Mexico State for comparison. It is impossible to compare a school playing its 3rd year of competitive football with a school who has played for 100. UNT has had great years in the past, and are having another one this season. UTSA has exceeded anyone's expectations in its short history. Both schools have impressed in one way or another in the seasons under their belt. UNT's football program has been around far too long for any real comparisons to be made to UTSA. That is not a knock on what our Runners have done. Mike Craven, the editor of our Rivals site, put it this way: "UTSA is a baby that came out the womb with the ability to sprint." With that said, when looking at both programs from a holistic point of view, i will again say that it is impossible to fairly compare a team in its 3rd year of existence to ANY school, not just UNT, that has been playing football longer. I'm tired. That all made sense in my head. Been at the library writing papers all night. We love our Runners, and yall love your Mean Green. Let's put it to rest at that.
  10. While the Alamodome is not technically "our" stadium, it has been a tremendous factor in our attendance and recognition around the city. We will play in the Alamodome for the next 25 years, with the option to opt-out every 5. The Dome was not used for much after the Spurs stopped playing there, and I think it UTSA using it is great. The fact that it is located downtown brings in people from all parts of the city to watch our games, not just students and alums. I dont see us using it for the next 25 years, however. Maybe 15 at most. By then, our fanbase will be much bigger and it would become a more feasible option to build a stadium on campus.
  11. Haha I meant it both figuratively and literally. The Alamodome lots are filled with kegs for our tailgates. Either way, yall can have some of our beer. Ha
  12. I am glad to have yall as conference mates as well, Eastwood Eagle.Thank you for the warm welcome. Just the fact that we have an in state team to play every year (UTEP doesn't count) with fans that are passionate about their team and willing to stand up for them is awesome. The geographical beef (North/South TX) makes it feel even more intense. We have bitter posters on our boards as well, so its even if you ask me. While there may be some bitterness that spills over onto these message boards, come November 23rd, we will be glad to share the beer that fills our kegs with anyone, no matter if they are wearing orange or green. We take pride in not having too many fans that are complete asshats both on and off the message boards.
  13. Thanks for that, ColoradoEagle. I'm not trying to start a pissing contest or anything with this post or the last one. A lot of people want to know where UTSA fans get their sense of pride from, being that this program is so young and has not received a lot of attention nationally. It stems from the hustle this team has shown since day 1. These players have hoisted this university and city on their shoulders and never flinched at any obstacle, no matter how daunting it may have looked.
  14. if UTSA is as bad as you say we are, putting up 28 points in the 4th q against even backups at OSU should be next to impossible. "Junk points" or not, I was referring to the fact that this team never hung its head and gave up even being down by 35 at one point. UTSA has basically entered every single game it has ever played as an underdog. We will never Every insult, stat, or even meme that yall have thrown at us, we have heard or seen. Every. single. one. This is nothing new.
