  1. It's sad that nobody else seems to notice how things are added to other UNT songs. An example: Ever heard the alma mater sung as, "But North Texas, who? North Texas, we love." I'm thinking that's also classless, along with muthaf**kin eagles that's just sad. It's school spirit, and I have to agree that college kids are just going to be college kids, and we shouldn't stop them from doiog just that. Do I really wish it hadn't gotten on TV last year? Definitely. But I don't think the practice itself is so horrible. Maybe, just maybe, it's part of why we have a students section, so that students can what teey want, without adults barging in on it. It's a shame that we can't respect that.
  2. I'm really surprised to hear how different the fight song and alma mater were played back then. I also don't remember hearing that the words were ever "for we know are university is forever in the right" either. Even though I could listen to them on my phone, my computer doesn't want to work with 4shared for some reason, but I can't get the files off my phone, so would somebody mind emailing them to me?
  3. Yeah, it's because of something that happened at a football game back in October. You might of heard the version that goes "U... N... T... Mother f*ckin eagles!" You'll hear it somewhere in the students section. Well, that got on to national tv, and the whole administration is embarrased about it. But don't worry, it's not official. It'll be back next year.
  4. I actually have a copy of the Green Brigade Cd, so I can send the alma materto you.
  5. Well, I'm singing the rest of it at the South Alabama preview at Apogee whether the Brigade is or not. The whole thing is just so stupid!
  6. How about this? If you want the fight song changed back to normal: At a UNT game, when the Green Brigade starts playing it, start singing, when the short version ends, keep singing it as you normally would, no matter what they play, or when they play it. And make sure it's loud, so that they can hear it. It might not do much, but it's worth a try.
  7. And I wish people would stop blaming it on the GB though. A lot of the mombers said they wish it hadn't gotten shorten. One guy in Honors was saying that about a week ago, the director told them that they were revising the fight song, and following it with one of the cheers. The members had nothing to do with it, and they were pretty much just told that that's how they were going to play it for this year.
  8. So now that I think about it, why get so mad about it. It'll change back next year anyway!
  9. I don't really know. Really, it just turned into a debate about whether the fight song should have been shortened or not. Nothing good really came out of it. And besides, we can't do much about it anyway.
  10. Agreed. So... Back to what this was about. Does anyone know where I can get an mp3 of the Alma Mater?
  11. Oh. I didn't know about that. When did Scrappy get into a communist prison?
  12. Nope, just about everybody. I'd rather them not let people say yell bullsh** than have them change the fight song, which to me is like changing a symbol of UNT. That's like not allowing the eagle claw anymore.
  13. You're right about that. But what about when the other team gets a touch down, and the whole section starts yelling bullsh**? Nobody said anything about that, did they?
  14. No, I don't think it's appropriate. But, if the students knew it was joing to be on national TV , and the camera might just come around to the students secsion, they should have thought about maybe not saying it that time so that this whole thing wouldn't happen. It's their fault. So, why punnish everyone else who just said U N T eagles, when they didn't do anything wrong?
  15. No, it probably wasn't the Green Brigade that came up with the idea, but they went aalong with it and shortened it anyway. I really just don't see what it's going todo for anybody. First, we're not going to have another game on national TV again this year, and second, since it was some of the students who were cussing, why punnish everybody else by making the song about a minute shorter? That makes absolutely no sense to me! Third, half of the GB members I asked said that was their favorite part! So, they're even punnishing the people who play it! Nice!
  16. Frankly, I can't wait until that happens. And hello! If you didn't want that on national tv, why don't you use censors?
  17. I know! And even some of the band members that I know said they wished that it hadn't been `revised" for the year.
  18. Well, at least they're putting it back in next season.
  19. Actually, I just found out that they took tb"at part out because people were shouting the students' version at the Lafayette game a couple weeks ago, and somehow, it ended up on national TV. So they're just cutting it out until next year, and putting another song right after it so that nobody has time to start yelling it.
  20. And I didn't know until tonight at the bondfire, that there was a shortened version of the fight song, that didn't have the U... N... T... Eagles part.
  21. You're definitely right about when the tower plays the fight song at 11:00. And it plays it at a weird speed too.
  22. Also, I can't couldn't download ITunes for PC caush the laptop I have right now is from my high school, and it won't let me run programs. I was gonna just put it on my flash drive, and wait until I can put it on my other computer.
