  1. Stars do matter but they aren't everything. A 5 star recruit is not guaranteed to make the NFL, but most of them do.

Big Ed is considered to be the 127th greatest high school football player of all time, the #2 overall recruit in Texas that year and the #3 defensive tackle in the country and was one of the best players we've had in school history. I told this story before, when he first got to Fall Camp, he was on the 2nd team defense. Halfway through the 1st practice, he was a starter and the rest of course is history.

So while there are outliers like Patrick Mahomes and JJ Watt, most of the time the star system gets it right.

No. Lol this has nothing to do with the AAC. Us, Cincy and UCF followed AAC bylaws, paid fees and gave an 18 month notice. Plus the 2023 Big 12 and AAC schedules have been released.

UT tried to get our game with them moved to NRG and offered 8 figures, but our AD said no.

Big 12 will just be a 14 team conference until July 1, 2025 unless a deal gets reached.

I believe that walk-ons should eat with the varsity on practice days.  The food is out; why not let the total squad eat rather than throw it out.  Also feed them on home game days.  I would even go for 1/4 tuition.  Many of these walk-ons might be as worthy of scholarships as those who receive them.  They are often either the star of a bad team or just below the top few on a really good team.  As far as I know they get nothing.

This is basically what's done at BYU with their walk-ons.

    Crystal Ball shows:

That crystal ball is old. Staff stopped recruiting him back in the fall because they were looking to fill spots before early signing day and he wanted to play out the recruiting process til NSD.

He's good enough to get on the field immediately at UNT.

CUSA a multi-bid conference?  The problem is the MWC is doing its thing in the NET rankings again this year, they have 6 teams in the top 60.  They were a 4 bid conference last season, and I dont think a single team made it past the first round.  The AAC should be a 2 bid conference, Memphis being on probation could become a factor if they become a bubble team.   However the rest of the AAC is not looking to good right now.  Realistically, I think CUSA would need 2 schools in the top 40 to achive multi-bid status.

CUSA isn't good enough to be a multi bid conference.

I won't be surprised. We have the perfect opportunity to do the same, but will it happen?

UNT never misses an opportunity to miss an opportunity.

In other news, it looks like your friends at UNLV are zeroing in on Gary Patterson.
