    With a good QB and rejuvenated team/coaching staff/fanbase I would argue that failing to gain bowl eligibility would be a disappointment. Having UAB, Memphis, and UTSA all at home will help. All games this year were winnable at some point except for SMU.

    Side note, I don't know about everyone else, but I like how all of our annual foes in the AAC won't skip a beat with the home/away game rotation. SMU on the road, UAB, UTSA, Memphis at home.

    Wholeheartedly agree.  Just saying, QB and defensive improvement are paramount with that schedule to improve upon what that would look like with this year's team.

  2. We are gonna need to win the kinds of games we couldnt this year (UTSA, Memphis, UNLV) to get bowl eligible assuming relative talent level is similar (however we know we will have a new QB and likely entirely new identity)...but just off of talent feel, here's what I see.  Seems like we'd need to snag one from UAB, Memphis, or UTSA or win the unscheduled OOC game.   That said, every single one of these games is very much winnable.

    @ La Tech - W

    ACU - W

    UTSA - L

    @ Tulsa - Toss Up

    Memphis - L

    @SMU - L

    UAB - L

    @Tulane - L

    Temple - W

    @ Navy - Toss Up

    I, too, am Pro Pit, but going to the UTA game made me envy the other side. I'd like to see the arena on campus, though. Maybe they could build it on the grounds by Santa Fe Square/Traditions Hall.

    That too is one of my biggest issues with a new place.  It being on campus is so key.  I hate never getting the true college feel over at MGV.

    This book is such a great read.  Read it several years back and it gives awesome history (as you’d expect from Gwynne) on Mumme and Leach developing an entirely new paradigm to the game.  It also is surprisingly intellectual from an X’s and O’s perspective about the actual offense.  Early Seth era it was so easy to see these kinds of things develop on the field.  The crazy part is, mesh is such a simple concept.  With Eric coming in and Coach Leach’s untimely passing, it’s a great time to read or re-read.  Highly recommend.

    what I remember at Morris team when we played them was we could not get to the QB because Zappe had such fast release.  I don't if from his play calling or development of the QB or Zappe's ability.  I hope he can develop or qbs.  Hope he choose well on the staff and keeps Cobbs at the very least.  We may need some older guy to help balance the youth.

    I don't know what to think about this hire but I am not going to slam it yet and hopefully I will say "Yeah, I knew this was the right guy from the start.  HIs his start date 12/13/2023

    Zappe played for HBU

    Thanks for stopping by and sharing so much positive info on Coach Fuente.

    Gagree.  Other than GP (which doesn’t feel realistic), Fuente is my top choice.  Followed by Riley and Harrell.  I honestly believe Fuente can take the baton from Seth (whom i celebrate and thank) and improve upon it in this next era.  Much else, gimme Seth.  Looking forward to the dust settling.

    Meh. he won conference titles at 5-7, 8-5, 9-4. and 7-5. 1-3 Bowl games, In that 4 year stretch he won 2 OOC games.

    Maybe there's something there with the success at Memphis... but thats some real mediocre nostalgia.

    Well like I said, it’s not gonna happen anyway so moot regardless
