    It just isn’t that simple.

The camera positions are on the press box side in every stadium in the country.

It’s the network’s job to cover the game, not to be a PR arm of the university.

Once again, the problem is bad football.

WKU took a different approach at their stadium.  They put a press box and cameras on the visitor side and the much larger club level and seats on the home side.  That way, the stadium looks more impressive on camera and better view of the WKU sideline instead of the visitors.   Seems a little wheels off that their logo on the 50 faces the visitor side for the cameras, but it all seems for the cameras.

UTSA is not a rival.  It's just a conference member.  If we weren't both moving to the AAC would anyone -want- to continue to schedule the game?  No.  And that's the difference between competition and rivalry.

While I agree with this currently, I think potential is there.  If UTSA continues to get national recognition and remains competitive, their proximity and competition for recruiting could make them a good natural rival.  The same reasons hold with SMU.  In both cases, teams need to be consistently competitive with each other.  We currently lack that consistency.

  4. I wore my kilt to the game, which I do periodically.  (Don't judge.)  I'm walking in and one of the security guards at the gate said "Sir, she is going to need to check inside your bag."  I looked at her oddly and then looked down at my sporran and said "This?!?"  Sure enough.  I awkwardly opened it up and gave a gentle pelvic thrust so she could see inside it.  That was a first in my history of game day experiences.  I could hold more in my pockets than I could in that thing.

  5. Great ideas.  I received a game experience survey today.  Hopefully you did too and can add these to the survey.  Seems like each week I see that they changed something that seems to be based on survey results.  This week they cut the ADA lot space in half so people could still get to the prime tailgating spots.  They seem to be listening if you share feedback in the surveys.

TCU is ranked and were playing another ranked team for first place. At a place that is expected to win or they will fire you…they fired the guy with a statue in front of their stadium because he was slipping.

We have nothing like that. Our coach looks out everyday at the practice fields named after a coach who got eventually got fired with a 42-64 record. Our students are basically told that football isn’t important here. And they’ve been told that for decades.

If I recall correctly, you can thank Matress Mack for that.  Dickey didn’t even want them named after himself.  (Wanted them to be named posthumously after former UNT QB Andrew Smith.)

I'm just so glad all 200 fans witnessed.

No doubt.  If not for the band on the field, I was thinking from the air the Navy Seals might have thought they had the wrong stadium.  I'm not sure how the home side looked from the student side, but the student side looked pretty anemic again today.  I suppose we've lost them for the year due to the early season non-conference losses?
