You basically stated that shooting in the gym and being successful won't translate to the game.

He defers because he doesn't have confidence in his shot.  The young man needs to find that confidence and the coaches are responsible for helping him with that.  It starts in practice.

it’s not on a college coach to develop a players shot. it’s on the player.

When you have a rotation of 8 guys, losing 2 of them is killer.  We desperately need more depth next season.  This has been an issue that we've managed to get lucky and dodge the last several years.  Maybe this is a limitation of our NIL funding/allocation?  Pulling in guys capable of contributing surely commands more funds.

it happens everywhere, though...watching the Kansas/Kansas State game last night (TP with 8 of KSU's 11 in OT...closer) and KU, one of the top all-time programs in the country, is basically on a 5.5 man rotation...had 3 players go 43 of 45 minutes (and had 2 starters foul out super late in OT).

it's very abnormal...if not entirely unheard of...to have 12+ players significantly contributing (waiting for @NT80 to say every team is using their entire bench except for UNT)

  3. with CJ and Rubin out, Edwards is the only player on the roster who can go get his own shot.

Buggs isn't afraid to shoot...at all...if he gets a sniff of open space it's going up. problem is he can't get his own, and I don't recall us running any set action clearly designed to get him open. if we want to see him get 8-10 shots, at least a few need to come through plays called specifically to get the ball in his hands off screens/action.

Scott (usually) is a solid shooter from 12ft out to the three point line, but he has a suss handle and looks awkward and non-confident in putting the ball on the floor. I thought he'd be a candidate to run some post-offense through, but that hasn't really worked either. either he doesn't know how good he can be and we're not at the ceiling, or he is what he is...a decent scorer and tremendous defender and maybe only asking him to be 3rd/4th best player on the team is just about right.

He might have been thinking of Michael Doleac….. he is a basketball genius…. So I have been told…. By one person…..

go stack legos in descending order of size and then color-code your bookshelf. it'll help calm you down.

He wasn't on that team. Those were his Denver days I believe. You might be thinking of Jason "White Chocolate" Williams who wouldn't get a pass from me anyways for his early Sacramento days.

damn...you're right. I knew JWill was on the '06 team...really had just a false memory of Birdman on that team. he was with Miami '13-16, but that was such a wasteland for Mav's ball I don't know why I'd associate him so strongly with Miami. c'est la vie, I suppose
