Check out the other game threads

I mean, I have...I think I've been involved in all of them...but save for some spoiled kid with only a vague knowledge of the name Ralph Sampson thinking he doesn't fit at UNT, I haven't read much that feels like real "hate".

I don't  question his effort, but like Stone, we don't need a player that the opponent will basically ignore knowing they aren't shooting.  Something like 6-8 points would be enough considering the minutes he plays.

these two things are not the same. a scoreless Walker is still a major contributor...he slashes, he rebounds, he play-makes...he's just not a scorer. no one is ignoring Walker in the flow of the offense, maybe just no need for a hard close-out if he's taking a late clock 3.

Stone isn't right now. those 40 boards in the last 5 games...Stone has 42 for the season. he get's left b/c he's clearly lacking confidence. you know what I would love? a Stone 0-7 shooting performance...at least I'd know he didn't just play hot potato after he missed his first. him passing on open shots or not making a positive basketball play hurt an already pretty stagnant offense. The Tulsa game was encouraging...I gave a big yell when he hit that little rock-back pull up three.

if the team were winning these games, this wouldn't even be a discussion. Walker has a better line than senior year JJ Murray while offering similar intangibles (not as great an on-ball defender, but a far better ball-handler and rebounder) and no one was saying "man, I wish JJ would take some of the shots that TP and Drez are taking"

Would just like to see him score a little.

he has 40 rebounds, 8 assists, 5 steals in our last five games...all while usually guarding a top scorer as well as being pressed into being a secondary ball handler.

and I don't know about you, but I say he works hard, too

UNC, Connecticut, Duke, Kentucky, Kansas, UCLA, Indiana --- those are Blue Bloods.  Other quality programs like your Michigan States, Villanovas, Louisvilles, and UVAs - while very close don't quite hit the mark for me.

I don't know if Virginia and their one title even belong in that second-tier conversation. I mean, Okie State, San Francisco and even Cincinnati have more.

UVA is just sitting there with Holy Cross, Wyoming and the City College of New York. hardly elite company.

  5. so just to summarize, Stone works hard while the rest of the roster is only here because of their natural athleticism and genetically-inherited quick-twitch muscles.

wanna make sure my bingo card is accurately filled in

Seems that way, which is unfortunate. Makes me wonder about our sports medicine/athletic training department and what's going on with their healing.

Not sure about that. We still can’t handle full court pressure well without our true ball handlers and guys like A Scott look gassed early. Lack of depth is killing our top end potential even though we’re still playing tough every game.

    bingo.

Moore seems so comfortable on the ball, but I don't think we can get away with him and Edwards on the floor at the same time, so scoring is a huge issue

This is not to take anything away from the guys at all, but I will say that Tulsa is not a good team. I think we beat them by what I would expect. They missed a lot of good shots because of our defense, but also because they are just not that good.

maybe not...but given the slide we were on, it's still a much needed win. Memphis had lost 3 straight...and then went on to lose to Rice (and barely beat WSU). a bounce-back win at least tells us the bottom isn't completely falling out.

Can't remember the exact stat they put up early in the game but he averages around 20 ppg as a redshirt freshman. Tulsa boosters are going to have to open up their wallets to keep him.

Houston area kid...maybe Rubin is in his ear...lefty-to-lefty

these are the 5s in my time:
    Abou Ousmane
    Zach Simmons
    Jeremy Combs (I guess, kinda...)
    George Odufuwa
    Keith Wooden
    Jeffery Simpson
    Shawnson Johnson
