Mattress Mack down in Houston is back in the news. He did one of his crazy promotions over the weekend and many of his customers got it right!

Here's a link from James L. Rogers Book "The Story of North Texas" page 476. I didn't know that North Texas played home games at The Cotton Bowl in the early '70's under Rod Rust. I know we played Texas Stadium home games over the years, but I've been around North Texas Football since the mid 80's and this is the first time I've read a reference to playing home games at The Cotton Bowl.
Does anyone have more information on this and who we played at The Cotton Bowl?

Don't forget about all the great Rock Bands that performed during the Texxas Jams from '78-'88. Boston, Van Halen, Aerosmith, Ted Nugent, Rush, Eagles, Foreigner, Sammy Hagar and many more......

Wow! What a great time capsule of the '99 season. A video like that today would be a lot different. If we played Boise St. at Apogee today the atmosphere would be electric. Times are changing for the better. Better facilities, fans, coaches & athletes.

A definate sign of great coaching is the team gets better every week! Of course, you can't say that about the D. Boys!

You're correct. It's a great video for the football team. By the way, where's the North Texas Model A Ford that used to be around 10 years ago? Last time I remember seeing it was in New Orleans at one of the Bowl games.

For a guy in his late 40's he looks old. A face for Radio fur shure!

So true Old Guy. Last year I saw a video of the club team & the CF couldn't throw the ball to the infield. I was hoping he had a bad throw in practice, but the editor used it. If a handful of guys can play Div. 1 baseball off the club team, good for them. But you are correct in your statement.
I hope they start making plans/breaking ground for a stadium soon.

I remember watching Mac play a Strickland MS in Denton as QB. Even then he was a very smart player and had a good arm, but of course that was Middle School football. This Saturday will be something completely different!

The defensive stand was epic! The 8 plays Rice had just inches from the goal line was some of the best North Texas football I've seen in 27 years. It will now be known as "8th & goal" in our NT football folklore.

I think we should have fans dress up as either the Green Lantern, Green Arrow, Green Goblin or The Incredible Hulk for this Halloween Game!
Or any other green Super Hero you can think of!

Sorry, If this has been posted before, but here's a TD run by Desmond White vs. SGP.

Where did the projectile land? Oh, the camera person followed the smoke like something was going to land on the field!

Here's the video I shot and edited back in the day while I worked at The Center for Media Production at UNT. The 10th anniversary of the 2002 New Orleans Bowl win over Cincinnati is on Dec. 17th. It was a good time in New Orleans so relive the memories!

All 5 of my HDTV TV/Monitors in the household are LCD Vizio's. The latest two are 3D models that are more like a computer.

I think there are 4 Texans in the Winter Olympics and 2 of them have ties to Denton, Texas. Jordan Malone and Johnny Quinn.
