  1. By the way...you guys are quickly becoming my favorite forum for convo. It is nice to see people that enjoy this as I do.
  2. I haven't. I am unware of that young man. I would like to see film of him though.

  3. I love reading articles on Scout, Rivals and other sites (heck, I have written articles on Scout)...but those ratings are school / name driven. It can provide good information sometimes, but it is a fan driven site. Why is Auburn not recruiting him? They have a slew of returning players at the 1 TECH and 3 TECH spots on the DL. It is also assumed that Auburn has its top DT target locked up silently. Troy? Troy is not a heavy recruiting presence here in Alabama. I wish they were more into the flow here. For me...it isn't about you has...or has not offered. It is about what you see on film. What type of production a player has had. And what level he has competed at for that film and production. Schools tend to fall asleep on kids that are closest to them. It is human nature. My eyes...the results of his play...all signs lead me to say this kid is going to make a fine college player. He will have to hold up his end of the deal. He will have to work hard and do his business in class...and the rest will be gravy. He is the best DT prospect in Alabama this year. It is Payne and Alan Carson. I got to watch full game film on both...I will place my money on Payne.
  4. I have been working with Auburn High School for 2 years. The kids there are good kids. Coach Carter runs a really good program. Jamichael has been one of my favorite kids to work with at Auburn. He is quiet, but listens well. If he were 6'3", he would be one of the most recruitied kids anywhere. UNT would do great if they can get him in the fold. The kid is a BEAST!!! 5. LOL...They dont claim him tho...but He has signed...I talked to his father today.
  6. Well, Arkansas has 2 DT's committed...but both are slightly different than Knight. They are more of a 1-Tech type player. Knight could be seen as a 1-Tech or a 3 Tech at DT. It just depends on what you want from him.
  7. Update on Knight I can confirm that UNT has faxed an official offer for Knight. I can also confirm that 2 Arkansas coaches are scheduled to visit this morning. They moved their time table up to beat the weekend dead period.
  8. I can tell you that the staff knows who Trint Jenkins is...or at least they should. They got an updated film on him the first of the week. He has all of the skill needed to compete at this level...no doubt. As far as DL...I know that they have offered Rakeem Knight. He is an unknown to most...but isnt to the recruiters at point. A huge number of FCS schools have offered along with UNT. Oklahoma State is very interested...and Arkansas has 2 coaches flying to Birmingham this morning to see him before the dead period. 9. He does play AISA. The thing about the AISA is that the good teams are really good...and the bad teams are really bad. His best game happened to come against one of the better teams. These type schools can really hold some hidden kids. Take Trint Jenkins for example. He is at a private school in Oklahoma. The kid is 6'9" 330 pounds. He has gone pretty much un-noticed until now. In a 2 day span...UTEP and UNLV are all over him...with the dead period ending...others will be too. It sures seem hard to miss a guy that big...but it happens. 10. This is a young man that UNT has started making a move for in the last few days. The young man's coach says they appear to be very close to making an offer. This kid was late to the recruiting process, but has been getting a lot of attention in the last couple of days. Oklahoma State has also moved into the mix. He may be a "PLAN B" kid for them, but they are sniffing around too. When this kid keeps that motor running, he is a tough assignment. These are all the same film...just depends on which setup you like best Site Profile: http://www.streetlight-productions.com/RakeemKnight.html Full Screen: http://www.streetlight-productions.com/RakeemKnightFULLSCREEN.html You Tube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pZ8uuDSp6qs
  11. Forgive me for being new to the NTU family. I have never gotten a chance to see Riley play. He appears to have put up good numbers in a tough situation. Seems like it is going to be interesting for sure. It may come down to how good he is at WR. Would seem that if Dodge is one of the 3 best WRs...and if he and the other 2 QBs have a close race...I would think WR would be the move (to increase overall field talent). But if Dodge is far and away the better QB, he stays at QB.
  12. That was his high school film. Here is his film at Northwest. The changes in his skill is very easy to see. JUCO film: http://www.streetlight-productions.com/BrentOsbornFULLSCREEN.html
  13. My name is Jamie Hancock. I live near Auburn Alabama. I am co-owner of www.streetlight-productions.com. We have been helping players from all sports get film and information out to coaches all over the country. I played football and baseball during my college days. If you know of anyone needing help finding a place to play college ball, give me a shout.

  14. After working with many kids in the Southeast over the last 2 years, I can tell you this: These kids are far more likely to look hard at North Texas than go equal distances north. Even though it is 15 hours away, the kids still see Texas as the south. Meaning that they see the weather and brand of football as more their norm. I don't forsee a mass movement west for these kids, but getting in their ear is going to be a bit easier.
  15. I think you guys said it right. A QB does not have to run like Mike Vick to move the pocket and avoid the rush. Take a Matt Ryan as an example. He is not a fast guy, but moves well enough to escape the rush and avoid big sack losses. That is all about awareness in the pocket. I am by no means saying Brent will end up looking like Matt Ryan, but speed doesn't always equal effective rushing at the QB position. Aaron Rodgers isn't going to out run Joe Webb in the forty, but I know which one I want running with the football...LOL! But, no matter what your opinion is on this...it is great to have good football talk!!!
  16. I can't confirm a Troy offer. However, I can confirm that Akron offered and really wanted Osborn to visit to give them a chance. I can also tell you the Miami OH, Marshall, Vandy and Ole Miss had interest. Other offers came in from Texas State, Murray State, Tennessee Martin and few more FCS schools. Brent was not highly recruited in high school due to lack of experience at the position and a wishbone system. Coach Hatcher, now at Murray State, was at Georgia Southern. Hatcher is one the coaches out of the Tony Franklin system mold. After 2 seasons, Georgia Southern alums put great pressure on the program to go back to the option attack. Hatcher moved on the Murray, and GSU brought in Jeff Monken. Monken was a Paul Johnson option guru for 13 years. After going through spring drills, Osborn chose to move on to Northwest CC to find a system that fit his skill set a little better. There is no doubt that Osborn is a better fit in a pro-style or passing spread. He runs well enough to escape pressure and move the pocket. Osborn's recruiting did not take off until November 16th when he took it upon himself to get film and information out to coaches. For a JUCO QB that is a DEC entry, that is very late in the process. However, even though it was late, the reaction to Osborn's film was very positive by a number of schools. Prior to getting his film out, Brent was pretty much only looking at Murray State. It had to be hard for the young man not to follow Coach Hatcher to Murray, but UNT was just too nice to turn away. Having known the family for years, Brent and his family will make a great addition to the UNT family. It is always nice to add good people to a program. 17. Yes. He already has his AA. He was nearly a grad upon transferring to NWCC. He has always been a great student.
  18. That is correct. He red-shirted his first year at Georgia Southern. Then, once the offense changed to the option, he went to Northwest MS for the Fall. So he is a 3 for 3 player.
  19. I know Brent has a good head. He will not mind if he has to compete. The young man and his family are super great people. You guys will love him. Now I have another team to follow, LOL! Hopefully some of the Southeastern kids will look towards Denton...
  20. Northwest MS JUCO QB - Brent Osborn committed tonight. He is a 6'4 plus 210 kid from Valley Alabama. Brent was at Georgia Southern until they went back to the option attack. I have known his family for years. He will make a great addition to the UNT family. His film is posted below. Highlight film: http://www.streetlight-productions.com/BrentOsbornFULLSCREEN.html (I own the rights to the site listed in the link...so it is approved to show...hope you all enjoy)
