  1. Thank you! It was a lot of fun. We even got complimented by a UT fan after the game while we were standing outside. He thought it was cool that that we all came down for the game and that we never stopped cheering. Idk how loud we actually were, but it felt like we were being heard and was fun anyway. Some observations I had (non-game related:) Really weird looking arena from the outside, but I did really like the orange lighting outside the arena. It would be cool if we had something like that with green. The inside was cool, I liked the lights-out intro and because they have a bigger arena, the scoreboard strip was cool. Hopefully one day we can get the drop down scoreboard in the pit. This was my first in person experience with UT, so maybe it's not always like this.. but I would much rather have the Pit Crew and our basketball band. Not impressed with the band (hooked up through speakers, really?) and didn't really see a big student section. Perhaps there is something to the "tshirt fans" that I always hear about. Maybe it was just this game, but I was disappointed with that aspect (although it was better for us on the bus!)

  2. There are 2 buses, although im not sure how full the second one is. We stopped in West, Texas at the Czech Stop and will hopefully be departing soon! The nice people at Czech Stop wished us good luck and one lady said she is going to watch it when she gets home. Hopefully we don't disappoint!

  3. A lot of over athletic guys don't really have good or great jumpshots. As they make it to the next levels and defenses get tougher to play against it is something a lot of them have to develop and learn over time because they can't solely rely on their athleticism anymore. I'm confident our kids will develop these things as time goes by....yes they'll improve during the season but this may be a 1-2 year process before it becomes a true well oiled machine. Patience is critical here I believe.

    Sigh..

  4. Doubtful. Students don't like to see their school get slaughtered like sheep.

I was thinking about going, but I don't want to go all the way to Austin to watch a blow out.

I have a spot on the bus but don't know if I really want to witness another slaughter. I drove down for the UTA "game" and unfortunately listened to the Mississippi St. game. I might need until December 10th until I'm ready to witness more terrible basketball.

  5. And Kansas got away with reaching in, causing the non-call travel. So much fail from the referees for both teams there. Kinda cancels out IMHO.

Fair enough. I didn't notice the reach in, probably because of my dislike of Duke.

  6. HAHA, I think there's more to life than the stadium that you would play in.

Having a nice paycheck for the family might be high on his priority list. Maybe some fans.

While this is true, I don't think he is hurting for money. He's doing a decent job with the program and I don't see him leaving his Alma mater for a little bit of money.

EDIT: from great to decent job after viewing actual numbers lol

  7. Anyone know if UTA opens the doors at the half. It seemed to me the crowd got much bigger in the second half, something that usually doesn't happen. The auditorium side went from a very few to half full in the bottom tier.

It is a shame that UTA gets such poor support, I bet a new arena and new conference will not help their attendance near what they hope.

I think I read that their new basketball arena costs the same amount as Apogee cost for us. I would hope a $78 million arena would get people excited.

  8. Wouldn't you feel better if UTA was doing the demolishing on Baylor ?

This was a good game until I jixed it

    Very nice win for DENVER

I guess if UTA ended up beating Baylor and Texas and they were just that good I might feel a little better about losing to them.. But it's tough seeing us lose to UTA since I left UTA to come to UNT.

  9. I like this point. It seems that the Dunbar up the middle plays became WAY too predictable. I like the variety of runs that Hamilton got.

I also like -thought it's obvious- when Dunbar gets going on the quick pass plays (see his huge 60 some yard catch at the last home game).

I also like the variety of play calling with Hamilton. I would prefer variety and a better chance to win than to have it become a pissing match between Dunbar and Rainey.
