    Results for Weekend of 9/15

ATH Jacques Spradley-Demps (Weiss): @ New Branfels, W 52-50.  Ten receptions for 148 yards & 2 TDs.  One kickoff return for 38 yards.

ATH Micho Lavine (Millwood): @ Scott City, KS, W 6-0.  No stats available.

WR Jaydon Smith (Ingleside): @ Rio Hondo, W 57-38.  Six receptions for 181 yards & 3 TDs.  13 kickoff return yards.

    S Fredrick Dotie (Kennedale): Bye

TE Victor Aderungboye (Dulles): 9/16 @ Fort Bend Travis, L 30-0.  No stats available.

    LB/S Brandon Jones (SOC): vs. Parish Episcopal, W 49-14, 5 tackles (2s/3a) w/ 1 TFL & 1 Hurry

    TE Tyler Harrington (Kingwood): Bye

QB Cash McCollum (China Spring): vs. Waco Connally, W 61-41.  Conflicting reports from a couple of posters on GMG.com, which is about as reliable vending machine rubber.  One poster reported 21-30 for 302 yards and 6 TD’s while the other reported 14-16 for 307 yards and 6 TD’s. He only played three quarters.  Either way, hell of a game with six TD’s.  Either way, he kicked ass.

    WR Baron Tipton (Coppell): Bye

WR Miles Coleman (Vandegrift): @ Round Rock Stony Pt., W 48-7.  Two rushes for 32 yards, four rec. for 79 yards & 2 TDs.  Two PR’s for 24 yards.

    Christopher Barnes (North Shore): Bye

CB Kerry Williams (SOC): vs. Parish Episcopal, W 49-14, 3 tackles (2s/1a)

Brandon Young Jr (Legacy): vs. Mansfield, L 42-31.  No stats listed for Mr. Young.

Luke Carter (Katy): @ Morton Ranch, W 54-14.  Unable to find the stats for Katy.

    Chris Gant (Klein Collins): Bye

    Thanks Lifer!

They’re just people. You might be surprised how many people actually talk crap about the service academies that are in the military. It’s easy to separate the football team from the actual branch itself.

Exactly. Most everyone on my ship preferred officers who did ROTC programs at traditional universities. The Naval Academy grads were always very high on themselves.

First away game as an alumni. Who’s going to be there. I’m solo traveling, but I would like to meet up with more people on the road.

My first game on the road was also FIU. It was Dan McCarney's first game and we had Lance Dunbar versus their TY Hilton. I thought the rain would negate their passing game but it certainly didn't and he scorched us. Some little chudd came up to me at halftime and asked if we were really that bad and I told him to get the f out of my face before he catches a smack. Never shit talk opposing fans who especially travel that far to watch a beatdown. Enjoy your trip and bring back that W!

You're absolutely correct, I've tried to stay out of this attendance talk, but it's ridiculous. Our alumni base and student enrollment, completely dwarfs you guys, and we still can't come close to filling our own stadium. I watched your game against Louisiana Tech and y'all had a pretty good crowd in the first half, considering the dangerous temperatures.

Exactly. I'm done with talking about talking about SMU... Especially as it pertains to their attendance. It was hot as hell and I don't fault anyone for not showing up to the game on Saturday.

How do you still have internet if they cut the cable lines?

Man I have no clue. Internet is solid but TV is out. Even the technician couldn't tell me how that was the case. So I guess I'm just going to use their internet and switch to streaming.

  6. We just painted the exterior of our house and it looks like the painters cut our Frontier cable and multiple places. We still have solid internet but no cable TV. I had a guy come out from Frontier to look at the situation and he actually told me to switch to YouTube TV. He said use Frontier for internet but to utilize YouTube TV as he said it was the best cable option. Guy said he had been in the industry for 30 years.

Calipari said hundreds of players who entered the transfer portal this year were left without scholarships. He also said head coaches are holding on to extra scholarships just in case a transfer might be available, which means "300-500" high school players won't get scholarships, either.

Calipari also said that the transfer portal has created age gaps between teams.

    "We've got 26- and 27-year-olds playing 18-year-olds," he said.

    https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/38285477/kentucky-john-calipari-calls-transfer-portal-same-one-done

I mean he isn't wrong but the amount of players that play under his teams and head off to the NBA immediately is also a ridiculous number.

LaTech, Navy (hopefully), Tulane, SMU (is it really an away game when we have more fans there?), and Tulsa.

Those who know going to games at Annapolis, it appears all the hotels have been sold out for months or you're paying $500 to stay a Spring Hill Suites.  Are people just staying by BWI Airport?  Any recommendations?  Any small nice spots farther east on the Bay?

I don't mind paying a few hundred for a room, but I'd rather not pay $500 for a limited service hotel facing a Chili's.

Hate to say it but your best bet is going to be Glen Burnie or somewhere around BWI and take an Uber. Hotels are pretty limited east of Annapolis and certainly the hotels in Annapolis are ridiculous expensive.
