  1. Classic...... Nice quote. All college athletes have to make sacrifices while playing, some are vacation times and others are not being able to party but they are all done for the love of the game.
  2. Man its sucks that I couldn't be there to defend my MVP. But from what I hear it was a great game. Congrats to the green team. And as always GOOD LUCK TO THE MEAN GREEN on their upcoming season. Hopefully I can make up to a game this year and catch up with some of ya'll. RecMan
  3. wow. and who is going to pay for that students tuition? the alumni that attend the games, the students that are already paying more in fees than they are for school, or the athletic department that seems not to have any money.
  4. what can i say im bored. i am sitting in keyboarding class. fun times. this damn reports is long so that means i am going to have to read your synopsis of it.
  5. some of these players are just stupid, they don't want to get caught doing roids. but they write personnal checks and have it sent to the clubhouse.
  6. yeah it sucks to see bags on there. he was one of the people i grew up liking. I didn't look real close but was pudge on there.
  7. who was it that donated money to us this past year? and how much was it?
  8. i dont know if you have facebook or myspace. but try posting something on one of those. there are more people on there.
  9. Yeah he would look good in a NT uniform but that is a Southlake Uniform he is wearing.
  10. wow..... i completely agree with this comment. there are no words that can say how much i completely agree with this.
  11. well, my father is a teacher/coach. he was in the HS scene for 30 some odd years and is now coaching in JH. he is coaching in a prodominately low income hispanic area. in the two and a half years he has been their i have heard of knife fights, purses full of drugs, riots, and even death threats. the education system is going down the drains and it is just going to get worse. someone said earlier that "Kids today realize that there is little adults can do when they do things" this is very true, kids learn the system at a very early age and most of the time parents are the antagonist of the situations. the parents dont care what their children are doing in school or out of the house, just as long as they dont get in trouble in the house. some parents are so afraid that CPS is going to get called on them that they dont punish their kids. the line between punishment and abuse these days is so thin that it is practically none existant. My question is how do we fix the problem and what do the schools need to do to help the process?
  12. Again, some people don't think before they speak. How many of those logos are in use today or within the past 10-15 years. I saw quite a few, even some that look very similar to professional logos and big conference college teams logos. So does that mean they took picking there logos lightly. Or did this catelog just go around and pick good logos to give people ideas. I think the '67 helmet looks the best. Just a new font on the NT and outline it in black.
  13. Ok, so there is a little problem. The IM fields (Beerbarn) have a UIL track meet on them this saturday. But the Rec Sports Complex (PeterBuilt Fields) are available. So hopefully every one knows how to get to the Victory Hall Practice Fields. Instead of taking the left off of Bonnie Brae, stay straight on Bonnie Brae and its on your right. It is where the girls soccer team used to play. If you have any questions please e-mail me at jonw@dsa.admin.unt.edu.
  14. lets see i played high school football with scott hall and attempt to play intramurals. i am about 5'10" and i am ok at catching the ball. i am also a gomeangreen rookie. shirt - L # - 14
  15. the facilities that we have are ???yrs old. the stadium is starting to show its wear and tear. its not that the arent safe, but before we get to that point we would like to build a nicer ADA certified stadium so everyone can enjoy the games equally.
  16. you want my opinion, we should start a baseball team and share a field, save up some money for a few years to build the facilities that we are in need of. not something that will never get full. that will just be a waste of money. it doesnt have to be huge just big enough to fit the fans that are going to the games.
  17. you are the one talking about getting money to build a new facility but you dont donate money. good thinking. that helps.
  18. daddy dipshit, your not even worth arguing with, your points arent even tangible. and i dont think you have your facts straight. i am pretty sure that most schools say that they have one of the cheapest tuitions in the state. all i have heard you say is raise tuition and build state of the art facilities. that builds good teams. smart idea. all i want to see is a good program. they could play at a high school field and i would go and watch.
  19. daddy dumpsalot, i would like to know where you got you information about school tuition and what schools you are looking at. and if you say baylor, atm, ut, smu and tcu. those are the elite schools in the state and of course we are going to be cheaper than them. three of those are private so can charge what they want and the other two are known nationally for there academics. UNT is known for their art department, i think. wow. thats impressive. you are wanting to raise tuition for what reason, to build a new stadium, but there is not a established program. the athletic department has not done anything to raise any money, at least made it known to the students. i would rather give money to the athletic department than to a general fund that athletics might never see. and i am pretty sure that if you would survey the students and ask if they would approve the school raising tuition so that athletics can build a new stadium for any sport that you would get a majority of no's. there are many schools that dont have very much money in their athletic budget but they have nice fields and uniforms. the reason is they appreciate what they have and work hard at keeping it in the best condition. they also take care of the money that they do have instead of build practice fields that without lights, come on how smart was that. the intramural fields that are being built right next to the practice fields are going to be nicer than that, they will at least have lights.
  20. Obviously you are not a student or do not pay tuition. Graduate students are paying close to 3000 for 3 classes and undergraduates are paying close to 3500. Most students are having a hard enough time paying for school right now. And you want to raise tuition to build new stadiums. Right then you really wouldnt have students going to games to support the teams they already have. And for your information the rec center pool might not be the best pool for swim meets but it is getting the job done for now. It is closed during swim team practices so no they arent swimming around lap swimmers. And if I remember correctly that most pools have removable bleachers, its called safety precautions. they even have them at the Olympics.
