  1. I do not work on Monday and would like to attend practice. What time do they start?
  2. Hey I just wanted to gather thoughts about how people think our campus looks. While I was at UNT I always would see areas of the campus that needed a desperate make-over. I thought I would post a note to the people who haven't seen our campus in a while. Maybe for those that live out of the area. My GF still goes to UNT and she sent me this email just a little while ago: "i just wanted to tell you how beautiful our campus looks right now! They have been doing some major renovations making it look better and it is so green and there are flowers everywhere!! " We are both from Austin, which is very pretty, so for her to comment on the campus is a pretty big deal (well to me)
  3. I LIKE it! Or maybe we could have a Navy ship in the sea and a GIANT eagle flying over head pooping but the poop is in the shape of missles and they are destroying the Battleship. This idea can be used against pretty much anyone we play. I mean we could substitute the Navy ship for any mascot. BRILLIANT I TELL YOU, BRILLIANT!
  4. Uh oh...CNN's Larry King is doing a special on the 'Sink Navy' shirts being printed by the University of North Texas Exes. Stay tuned April 15th for more.
  5. This is the stupidest thred. If you dont like the shirts DONT buy one, if you do like the shirts BUY one. People will always find something to complain about it. If we had a goat well then it wouldn't look right. Since we're having so much sympathy for the Navy why don't we let them beat us? I mean after all we don't want them to get discouraged while fighting the war.
  6. I'm not buying a shirt because I think they're dorky. We should have had a GIANT eagle attacking a Battleship, now that I would buy.
  7. And all UNT's people said...AMEN
  8. I dont know if lazy is right either. I really feel that they just figured no one would care in the lower end conferences so why spend the money and time to make those stadiums accurate. And no once you get into CUSA the stadium doesn't change.
  9. was that when we played baylor?
  10. This is exactly right. If you will notice that the SBC schools have this standard stadium. After my first season as UNT I went 12-1 and got an invite to CUSA. The stadiums in CUSA depict what their stadiums look like. Maybe someday we'll get to have our actual stadium on a video game.
  11. I would prefer something like this: (hope this works) TCU Stadium
  12. I dont like it. In my opinion it needs more elevation in the stands to enclose sound better and fans need to be closer to the field.
  13. does anyone have any links or know where I can go to find what their new stadium will look like? and maybe what their old one looks like now?
  14. Nice post and couldn't agree more. I work this this guy who was a tackle for TCU when they were in the CUSA. He said that it was awesome playing in front of larger crowds. He told me about playing SOMISS and that their bench was like 5 ft in front of the fans. He said they would get yelled at the whole game. When the coaches would be going over certain strategies with the players they would get hit with beer cans (yes beer). He said it was intimidating.
  15. Read this about CUSA http://conferenceusa.cstv.com/ot/about-c-usa.html But catch this... The league's headquarters were established in Chicago and after nine years, relocated to the current office in Irving, Texas. Britton Banowsky was named Commissioner in October 2002, succeeding Mike Slive, the league's first commissioner.
  16. Well I'm almost certain this 'rumor' is true. And it should take affect '07 season. Yes this is what the 'big' schools do but they also dont have any problem packing out their stadiums. I don't personally like the idea. Yeah the parking lot 'fans' dont do anything for me either but I would rather them at least show up for the tailgating and contribute to that atmosphere than sit at home or some bar and 'support'. Lets face it, if pushing people further from the games means that our tailgating numbers are cut in half, that is half as many people we might could of got into the stadium.
  17. Yeah but for whom? I know many people that come to the games and just tailgate the whole time and never actually go into the game. I dont think moving tailgating further away is going to result in more people coming to the games. Infact I would bet that those parking lot fans will now just sit at home and get drunk and not even bother to make it to the parking lot.
  18. Well this is what was told to me. Here is the reason given by RV: to give the large donors assigned parking spaces closer to the stadium. Yes the result is that we are forced to tailgate, with no tailgates.
  19. Has anyone heard that tailgating will now be moved to the soccer field at the PEB across from the REC center? What are your thoughts about this...
  20. I like to poop too...ALOT! Sometimes like 3-4 times a day. Gets annoying at times and hurts a little too. Just glad I'm not alone.
  21. Nice post. I couldn't agree more. I hope the decidsion makers are looking down the line into how we can improve on this accomplishment in the seasons to come and even in our other althletic programs. We def. need to capitalize on this. I hope that we are in The Big Dance next year and maybe even seeded higher.
  22. Do we know how our turnout was there? I didn't see much green in the stands.
