  1. They (recruits) are not stupid.  If DD went into some kids house and said, "Hey (top recruit) if you come to NT you could help us win a NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP, you could help put NT in a BCS bowl!"  They would absolutly laugh his butt right out of the living room.

Some of you must get some reality in your daily diets.  Eat more carrots or something.

No one's laughing at Gary Patterson right now...Sometimes to build higher you have to think big or at least have bigger goals than "As long as the only game we win is SMU!" Do you want Dickey to recruit with that?

"Son, you could help us beat SMU!"

"Gee coach, that sounds swell! As long as that is the only team I help you beat."

    "Boy, you got a deal!"

  2. If the school President, Chancellor and BoR allow RV to do his job without interference then all the power to him on taking  another job. UNT is holding RV down, he has done of good for the school, but it hurts that he is not allowed to run his department without the hands of others messing around undercutting him.

Yes, there is an internal power struggle going on right now (has been for awhile) and RV and Pohl are too good to just lay down and take it

oh and don't forget about the SMUNT conspiracy!

  3. No, just the expectations of the higher-ups in the admin.

I thought the Admin expectations were to fill as many NT job openings with people affiliated to SMU as they could and to eventually call us SMUNT

  4. Dickey has only one game to win next year to keep his job, and he better not screw it up, SMU.

good gosh, is that how low our expectations have fallen?

I would rather have TCU's season, beat everyone else, but SMU than beat SMU and lose to everyone else blink.gif

  5. ---Sorry, afraid not, my family showed up on the Texas Frontier in the 1870's, even one member was scalped by Indians.  Some members were even denied the right to vote by the Republican reconstruction in Texas.  My Grandfather lost a lot of Texas land due the Republican economic and banking policies during the 20's which caused the Depression.  I am not quite a Yellow-Dog Democrat but getting a lot closer due the the policies regarding schools by the present GOP-led legislature at the moment.  The GOP in the past have been the RATS ( the polite term you used ) and seem to be getting there again.

---Are you a 5th generation Texan as I am ??? and are you enjoying all the tuition increases and educational policies we have had as a result of the past two GOP-led  regular sessions.  They passed no school budget  (a first in Texas) which caused many schools to open without needed supplies. I seem to remember them approving a Law School for North Texas and then not funding it.  Yep, they are really great guys (Delay et. al.) --and that is why Stayhorn has left the party.

I meant nothing to you Mr T, after all, I know your family...next time I will just call the people who support California over Texas athletes communist wink.gif

  6. I was cheering for USC the entire time.

You people make me sick...what are you a friggin liberal?! How could you cheer against kids born in Texas, went to Texas schools and full of the state of Texas pride? Not liking Texas is one thing but openly cheering for a California or Florida team to beat a Texas team is unnacceptable...get a rope

  7. Japan! Seriously, let's take a lesson from Baylor's Tennis team and the NBA and send some scouts to Japan. Once in Japan find the best SUMO we can get and recruit him! The Sumo technique should transfer to football and make it easy to throw lineman around and tackle/sack the opponent...

Problems...we will have to break them of the habit of holding their opponents jock strap...and teaching them english, both minor problems!

    go Mean Green!
